Chapter 2: Assignment1

I turn the corner and enter a dark alley. Walking a few more feet I turn again and face a steel door. I knock three times and wait. 5 seconds later a slide on the door opens and I’m greeted by a pair of threatening chocolate colored orbs….”you’re late again Reina” the owner of the eyes sounded loudly through the door “yeah I know Mike but Izzy will get over him self” I replied calmly. A low grunt sounded through the door and the slide quickly closed following a series of locks and chains the door flung open. I stepped in and my nose was assaulted by the sour smell of smoke…. (I’ve always hated the smell of smoke) “Heh he should quit before he keels over” I said smugly as I walked past Mike. I was suddenly stopped by a strong pull on my shirt. I turned to find my self facing Mike once again. “Hey Izzy ain’t in too good a mood so I would leave that smug tone outside” he said to me. I just looked at him for a second then shrugged his hand off my shirt.” I can take care of myself Mike. I don’t need you trying to be my mother” I said to him turning to walk to my destination as I did so. This time I wasn’t stopped but I did hear a disappointed sigh come from behind me.2

“REINA YOU ARE LATE!!!” that annoying voice of Izzy's sounded…”hey I’m here aren’t I?” I responded in a less amused tone. The next thing I remember is feeling my head snap to the side. A dull pain soon followed. Instinctively my hand rose to cup my now injured face. I looked up at Izzy and saw his face was red with anger. “Hey Iz you should lie down you don’t look too AHHH!” my sentence was cut off by an intense pain in my scalp. Izzy had a huge fist of my hair and he was pulling my head back. “Look you smug little bunny! I’m not gonna put up with this any longer. Now if you want I could put you back in the trash can I found you in!! Now do you want that?!?!?! “ he shouted I shook my head as best I could “n…no sir I don’t” I answered pathetically.” good now here's your address” he said throwing me down and handing me a piece of paper. I took it without sayin a word. “Now get outta my sight” he said icily to me .I scrambled up off the floor and walked out. I looked at the paper that was given to me it read 128 Rosemary Lane 7:30pm. I looked at my watch it was 7:15… “Damnit!” I swore pocketing the paper I ran towards Rosemary...…..3
