The Lord, The Lady and the Stallion

The white stallion looked majestic in his golden armor.1

He reared and snorted impatiently. "Au Contrair" belonged2

to the wealthiest land owner in the lower parts of Spain.3

Lord Contillion considered himself a feared warrior. He,4

too, wore golden armor. They were a striking pair and they5

had a mission.6

Word had it in Lord Contillion's Castle and village that7

terror abode over the hills in yon distance. It was whispered8

by everyone, "dragon!" At night, when all the work was done,9

and the land lay quiet, you could hear the forced breathing10

of fire from the feared creature.11

The cave was damp and cold. Lady Loree huddled behind a 12

large rock of clay, shivering. Her gown was muddy. Her hair13

looked wild. She was a mess. How had she gotten here? Oh, 14

yes, she walked too far from the village. Whatever would15

become of her, now? She imagined she would be a dragon's16

meal.17

It was a day's ride over land to the hills where the sounds18

were coming from. Lord Contillion rode hard and fast. Dirt19

kicked up behind "Au Contrair" as he flew with the winds.20

The Lord knew these hills and caves well. He had played here21

as a child. Neither was this his first confrontation with a 22

dragon. The distance was growing shorter. Once at the hills,23

they stopped to catch their breath. They would need to be24

silent.25

Lady Loree began to cry uncontrollably about this hopeless26

situation. The dragon turned and roared at her. Fire followed.27

While it didn't fully reach, it singed her body hair.28

The Lord had heard that last dragon roar. He knew, instantly,29

where it came from. He rode around to the top of the cave30

so that he could look down upon the opening. Lord Contillion 31

had a heavy cloth pouch tied to his pants beneath the armor. 32

He, now, groped and caught hold of it. With one motion it was 33

loosened from his pants.34

Long ago, as a boy, Lord Contillion had come across a wizard35

while his father and he were visiting the King of Spain.36

This wizard had a premonition about the young Lord. He saw37

several dragon's in his future. And while man is no match38

for a fire breathing dragon, magic IS. The wizard concocted39

a potion that consisted of hundreds of tiny beads. They 40

wouldn't harm a man but were feared by a dragon.41

In position, Lord Contillion started cursing loudly. The cave42

shook with the movement as the curious dragon came to the edge 43

of the cave's opening. He wasn't out far enough! Too far and44

the Lord was a dead man. What to do? He jumped down from "Au45

Contrair" and picked up a rock. He tossed it down with one hand46

ready with his pouch in the other. It seemed hours passed before47

the dragon stuck his head out far enough for Lord Contillion to48

sprinkle it with the beads. But, at last! He got him. Immediately49

the dragon began to shrink to the size of a squirrel.50

Lady Loree ran out hysterical. She had gone quite mad. The Lord51

had to tie her to keep her from clawing herself. He would go to52

every village until he found her family.53

A nice cage was built for the dragon. He became Lord Contillion's54

pet, along with the other shrunken dragons he had collected.55

    good up to the ending

I really enjoyed the suspense that built up to the end but once you got to the beads. It just seemed too childish. Also there should be more dialog!

    good

hum... thats a very intersting story. i think its good. i enjoyed reading it. however, i personally might add some more detial. make me see it in my mind. especially the part about the magic beads. those sound intesting.. tell me.. were they blue or green or red? were they large or small? what color was the horse? what did the lady look like? was she beautiful? i mean.. maybe i'm just OBSEESED. but i LOVED details. they make the story come alive. well.. thats what i wouldd do. anyway, i really like this story's plot and i would say.. keep working and improoving it!

haha that's great. very fairytale while funny (he turned into a pet dragon the size of a squirrel!) though i'm not quite sure why it's erotica *confused* hm. anyway! heh i really like the way you put down stories... maybe it's the lack of fairytales here. i dunno. i like it good luck!!

    amazing

this is a beautiful piece and i am glad that i was one of the first to read and comment on it. i have always enjoyed reading your poems and stories. my favorite about this was In position, Lord Contillion started cursing loudly. The cave
shook with the movement as the curious dragon came to the edge
of the cave's opening. He wasn't out far enough! Too far and
the Lord was a dead man. What to do? He jumped down from "Au
Contrair" and picked up a rock. He tossed it down with one hand
ready with his pouch in the other. It seemed hours passed before
the dragon stuck his head out far enough for Lord Contillion to
sprinkle it with the beads. But, at last! He got him. Immediately
the dragon began to shrink to the size of a squirrel.

Lady Loree ran out hysterical. She had gone quite mad. The Lord
had to tie her to keep her from clawing herself. He would go to
every village until he found her family.
i hate that happened to Lady Loree and it was nice for the Lord to go searching for her family to let them know......this is just another example of your amazing talent. Thanks for sharing and keep it up. I wish you the best of luck and hope you win !!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
