In the beginning~Mom created us

Small toys found there way across the room, thrown by small fists.1

"Trinity and Jordan knock it off!" a loud voice yelled from the kitchen, and the two girls froze.2

The door shut and clicked as Jocelynn walked into the room.3

"Mammas home!" the two girls yelled in unison,4

kids came running from every room until they were all huddled around her legs. The youngest Samuel crawled from his bed with sleepy eyes sucking his thumb, he walked lazily over to Jocelynn and stared up at her with tired eyes.5

"Are my babies hungry?" she asked glaring at Rory who sat on the couch watching tv.6

Jordan`s eyes followed her mothers to her father and frowned, she tiptoed her way into the living room and clicked off the tv. 7

Rory sat staring as the small girl pulled on his hand...8

"Come on daddy, mamas makin` supper" she whined9

her arms rested around his neck as he carried her to he kitchen.10

The small round table was only supposed to seat six, but somehow they always managed to fit nine. Of course Rory and Jocelynn always claimed the ends of the table leaving the children to squish close to the sides. Most times Trinity and Jordan couldn't be separated and it was much the same way with Felice and Briana. Samuel always got to sit next to his mother and Robert and Jeneane didn't really care where they sat.11

"Dear heavenly father, we thank you for this meal that you have placed before us, and I pray lord that with the money that we have we can make it through another day" Jocelynn said in her prayer12

It was hard not to come close to tears when she opened her eyes to see seven small heads bowed, she looked across the table at Rory who had his head rested lazily on the table, she sighed.13

"Amen" she said, seven small "Amens" followed and a grunt from Rory as he stood from the table and left slamming the door behind him.14
