Enlightenment [Prologue]

Imogen ran down the street, grasping the book in her hands. Water from the puddles below her splashed into her shoes, she turned a corner sharply and carried on sprinting.1

“Hey! Stop there!” Mr. Brockenhurst scowled with frustration, there was no way he could keep up with her. He clutched his chest and breathed heavily, he was getting old, and wouldn’t be able to chase the book forever. 2

The book was a special book. A book full of life’s secrets. Secrets no one should ever know, except one person. Imogen Waters. She was the guardian of the book, you see, this book was so dangerous any one who read its pages would suffer a terrible fate. But every special book has its twists, for this one, it was that every year on the stroke of news years eve the secret the book held would change. This years secret was exceptional, and Imogen knew that no one should be able to find out about it, if they did it would change man kind forever. That is if they ever got to spreading the word.3
