The Little Boy the Tooth Fairy Forgot

Once upon a time the little boy named Anthony had a loose tooth. For days and weeks he would wiggle it until it finally gave way. He was so excited. He couldn't wait to put the tooth under his pillow, knowing that as soon as he fell asleep the tooth fairy would visit. 1

The next morning the excited child jumped out of his bed and tossed his pillow aside. Dismayed, he saw that his tooth was still there.2

"MOM!!!!" He yelled. "The tooth fairy never came" he cried.3

"What!?! I'm so sorry, honey. I will call the Magical Creatures Association and find out what happened. We'll get to the bottom of this!" She said reassuringly.4

"The Magical Creatures Association? What's that?" Anthony asked.5

"The MCA is an organization that helps parents contact magical people like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. So that when things like this take place, they will get in touch with the Tooth Fairy and find out what happened." His mother explained.6

"Wow! Can we call right now?" Anthony asked excitedly.7

"I promise I will call today while you're at school." His mother responded. 8

Later that day, after Anthony's mother returned home from work, she and Anthony sat down for dinner together. 9

"Did you get a chance to call the Magical Creatures Association?" Anthony asked.10

"Yes, I did." She began. "It turns out that the Tooth Fairy is training someone to take over for her. And, although she feels badly, she forgot to tell the trainee to stop by our house. She stopped by my work today and dropped off this letter for you." She handed the letter to Anthony. 11

"Wow." Anthony gasped. He asked his mother to read the letter aloud.12

"Dear Anthony,13

I am terribly sorry that I forgot to stop by last night. I am training a new tooth fairy to take over for me after I retire. I've been doing this for a very long time, and I almost have a perfect record. Please accept this dollar and my sincerest regret over the matter. And don't forget to brush your teeth. There is nothing that we tooth fairies hate more then picking up dirty teeth. Yuck. 14

Your Friend,15

The Tooth Fairy"16

Anthony's mother read aloud.17

"Cool. I'm going to go brush my teeth right now." Anthony said running to the bathroom.18

And the Tooth Fairy never forgot him again.19

    Toothless in Seattle.

Delightful to read. I was never skipped. All my teeth were faithfully rewarded by the Tooth Fairy. I sympathize with Antony's plight. And I am glad that everything was set aright in the story. A very good ending.

Lol... this is such a cute story... sometimes parents have to be a little bit ingenious to explain things like the tooth fairy forgetting to stop.
I enjoyed this well written story very much. And Wow!!!.. a dollar... in my day we were overjoyed to get a nickle from the tooth fairy

A good write, Kat I did notice a misspelled word, though...in the first line, lose should be loose, I believe....don't feel bad, though.. I'm always missing that stroke for a double letter, too.

Short and sweet, and fast-paced, just like a fable. This is really cute and modern (MCA lol) and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!

The tooth fairy is becoming far too forgetable. If this continues to be a problem we parents should alert the magical creature's association
