Sither Chapter Two

Chapter Two: Dreading School1

  Sither always regretted moving from coast to coast. Her dad was a surfer, and every single time he got bored where they lived, they would pack up and move, which was once a year. " Honey, Sither needs to stay in one place!" Her mom would try to persuade Sither's dad, but he commented, " Yeah, but if she wants a good job, she has to explore and see her options!" That was always his excuse.2

School was in by a month, and Sither was hoping she would fit in.3

Her luck. Sither stood out like a white sun in the tan sky. She was the only pale skinned. And, she was the only one with the secret...She thought, at least.

At the end of the school day, whispers came from a room with a black door. When Sither peeks through the small, tinted window, a shade comes down and blocks her view. She knocks harshly, and the door opens to a crack, no more.4

" What?" A hate-filled voice booms.5

" I heard there's a club here." Sither says firmly, although she was lying.6

" So? Only SPECIAL people can join..." 7

" I am special...I have something I think no one has..." Sither whispers, her teeth showing as she talks.8

" Oh! Come in, come in...." The girl opens the door slightly, and Sither enters the cavern.
