The Hitchhiker (chapter 12)

Missy got up off the couch1

and walked out to the kitchen.2

She knew exactly where to find3

the headache pills without asking4

where they were kept.5

She just happened to look 6

out the window over the kitchen sink.7

She saw somebody sleeping in 8

the front seat of the car.9

She ran back to the livingroom.10

Not paying attention to what she was doing,11

she dropped the bottle of pills on the floor.12

Missy: "Cynthia, I mean to freak you put, but there is somebody sleeping in your car."13

Cynthia: "Don't worry, I know who he is."14

Missy: "Are you sure?"15

Cynthia: "Yes, I'm sure, I picked him up on the way home."16

Missy: "What's his name?"17

Cynthia: "His name is Tony, he got caught in the storm and you know me..."18

Missy: "I don't like seeing anybody getting caught in a thunder and lightning storm, I know, I know."19

Cynthia: "You took the words right out of my mouth. Speaking of mouth, I need to get rid of this damn headache."20

Missy: "Oh, I'm sorry, I'll go get them."21

Missy walked over to the bottle of pills22

and picked them up.23

I can understand why she was so concerned.24

She walked back over to me25

and handed me the bottle.26
