Men In Suits

BEVERLY looked out of the restaurant window anxiously. They should be here by now, dammit, and they weren't! She pulled back her thin ebony hair behind her shoulder and sat camly down on the table. Since the waitress was glaring at her, she ordered a drink.1

Just as Beverly was sipping from her glass three black clad men strode more than serenly inside, and walked straight over to her. They sat down without a word and stared at her evenly. "How's life in Michigan?"2

She knew that was the code, and replied with a shaky smile, "As always, cold."3

The first man, a tint of grey in his hair, leaned over and slipped a disk under the table into her sweaty palm. She met his cool, unfeeling eyes. There was not one spark of affection or even sanity in his menacing color of green. Shivers raced down her spine and she nodded.4

"You know what to do, right? Deliver it to Dort. Oh, and don't ruin anything. Cause if you do." He opened his jacket and showed her the rim of the revolver. She gulped and nodded. "I get the point."5

He sat back and had a contented smirk on his face. She knew what he was thinking. How wise of her to get involved with the ASC; she was beautiful, cocky when she wanted to be, and everything they needed to install the COOP project. and when they did...well, let's just safely say, there'd be trouble for the Government.6

She slid the floppy into the top of her nylons and breathed exasperatedly. "I will see you safely on Friday."7

She had only four days to complete the mission. Any longer...forget going back to any life, or her suave, criminal husband.8

The men stood up and headed to the door. A few suspicious heads turned but were soon distracted again in their private conversations. Beverly straightened her black dress and walked to the bathroom to wash her face with icy cold water. She would need alot of help. But from who..?9
