Chapter 41

(Later that day)2

"What happened?" asked headmaster Riot as he entered the nurse’s office with Victoria, Sammy, and Mojo by his side.3

"Training happened." replied Phillip as he lie on the bed with an ice pack under his neck.4

"Well, that's just great. Oh well, it will give me and Mojo more of a chance to prep you for what is to come."5

"Alright. So when will we leave? We obviously aren't leaving today." said Alice.6

"You'll leave tomorrow in the morning." 7

"Ok... What do we need to know?" Phillip inquired8

"Well, we know that Hemet isn't anywhere in this state, so when we finally do find out where he is we know you won't be know he won't be anywhere around here."9

"Ok. I don't see how that's relevant at this point, but go on." said Phillip obviously anxious to get off of this bed and on to wherever he was going.10

"Well," continued Riot trying to keep his cool as well, "We know where all of the gems are, but not the machine yet. Mojo will let us know as soon as he gets the information."11

"Ok. I just wish that I could have gone sooner, and I could have if I wasn't stranded here on this stupid, God forsaken bed!" screamed Phillip.12

"It's ok Phil! Calm down ok? We still have time. Take a couple deep breaths." said Riot.13

"Ok. I'm just so mad because I know that I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for you Alice!" he said, infuriated.14

"I'm sorry." said Alice, "It's just that when I'm fighting I'm just so caught up in the moment. I never really THINK about anything else."15

"Yeah, but you can still make other people THINK that they're in Hell!?"16

"I'm sorry Phillip! Please don't be mad at me!"17

"Ok... Ok... I'm trying to calm down. What else do we need to know?" he said, still very upset. He was furious. He was very upset with Alice, but loved her too much to show it. This is what he would change about her. He took a few deep breaths, counted to ten, did anything he could to keep himself calm.18

"Well," said Riot, "If you look at your ear piece you will see that we have updated them."19

They all pulled out their ear pieces, held them in their hands, and went directly to the map. The green display glowed in front of each of them. The display was just large enough for them to hold in their hands. Each display showed a different shape.20

"Phillip, if you look here you'll see..."21

"Las Vegas, Nevada." interrupted Phillip.22

"Yes." said the headmaster, "Vegas. As you may know, and probably do know, Vegas is very large. It has so many people and shows and drunks that no one will care, or probably even notice that you are there. This is where you will be headed."23

Phillip was excited. He had never been even out of state before. He wasn't afraid of the anything at this point. He was ready to get out of this place as soon as he could.24

"Sammy, here we have..."25

"New York, New York!" Sammy shouted.26

"Yes. New York is a very large place and very over populated. You won't have any trouble maneuvering around and that is why you will be going here."27

Sammy could hardly believe it. He was going to scream! He knew that he would have no problem here because he could slide down the street with ease and no one in New York would care.28

"Victoria, right here on the map we see Seattle, Washington."29

"I could have told you that." said Victoria.30

"I know, but... Oh never mind."31

Victoria had always wanted to be that far away from home. She always had a secret desire to be able to go to exactly this kind of place. She was ready.32

"Alice, you will be going to..."33

"New Mexico!?"34

"Well, we certainly know our geography don't we?" teased the headmaster.35

"Why New Mexico? Isn't it tiny there? Absolute nothingness?"36

"Someone had to go there. If anyone sees you it won't matter because of your power. Make them think they were just seeing things. Just do it for us." said Riot.37

"Fine." replied Alice obviously perturbed.38

"We had no other choice."39

"Well, is there anything else?"40

"Yes. We have received word that Hemet knows that we are after the gems."41

"What!?" they all replied.42

"I'm afraid that it's true." said Mojo, "Hemet himself and three of his colleagues will be hot on your trail in each of these places. Hopefully you have enough training to take care of them yourself. Fortunately, each of them has a power that we believe you all could take care of if you had to."43

"Well that's good." said Sammy, "But what are their powers?"44

"Austin Chace... He is known as The Ice Prince. He has total control of ice and has developed his powers since to be able to control water as well."45

"Wow! That's pretty intense!"46

"Yes, I know. Max is a portable cloning device. He can multiply himself in numbers AND he can multiply other people. He developed his power so far that now he can duplicate powers as well, meaning that if you get cloned, your clone has your powers as well."47

"Wow! That's pretty intense too!"48

"Yes, I know. Beatrice is an invisible woman. You all learned that invisible women also have the ability to create power shields in addition to being able to turn invisible."49

"Wow! That's pr..."50

"Yes, I know. Hemet... Hemet is a demon. He has similar powers to you Alice, but incredibly dark. This is our primary concern next to the gems; that these four don't get too far in your way. We will give you more information when we can."51

"Alright." said Phillip, "We'll be out’ a here tomorrow..."52

"Sleep well." said Riot, "You have a full day of traveling ahead of you."53
