Love Always

Judy Anderson walked out of her apartment. She was on her way to the park to meet a very dear friend of hers. On her way out to her car, she was stopped by a man. He was tall, handsome, and he was carrying a dozen roses in his hand. 1

"I'm looking for a Miss Judy Anderson. Do you know her?" the man asked. 2

"Why a matter of fact my dear Sir, I am her," Judy replied.3

"Oh my God! Well Hello, Judy! These roses are for you. Obviously I'm Peter. Where were you? I waited at the park for over and hour," Peter said.4

"I thought we said 10:00! Well I guess I heard you wrong. I'm so sorry!" Judy said.5

"Oh, don't be. It's fine," said Peter. 6

"Well, let's walk back to my apartment and we can talk," Judy said. So Peter and Judy walked to her apartment and went in. 7

"So this is where Laura ran off to then, eh?" Peter asked.8

Judy hesitated but then said, "Yes, this is where. I begged her to tell you but she said she could never tell you...She died right there on that couch. I remember walked into my apartment to find her lying there dead. She still had tears in her eyes. She was very ill and knew she was dying. Before she passed away that night, she told me that she was going to write you a letter. She never did. So one day, I decided to and well...here we are now."9

Peter didn't say anything for a minute. 10

"Why did you suddenly write to me?" Peter asked. 11

"Because...because I had to tell you," Judy replied. 12

"To tell me that Laura had been here with you, her sister all along?" Peter asked.13

"No...I'm not Laura's sister," Judy said. Her lips trembled and a tear fell from her eye. "I am Laura, Peter."14

Peter gasped and stood up from his chair. 15

"No, Peter. Please don't leave! I am Laura! I left you because I couldn't face you. You asked me if I was the one the FBI was searching for, and I knew I could never tell you the truth. I got plastic surgery to change my face a bit. I dyed my hair and cut it short. I bought all new clothes and jewerly. I became Judy Anderson," Laura explained.16

"I could've helped you Laura! Why didn't you just tell me the truth?" Peter asked.17

"How could I tell the love of my life that I was wanted in over 14 states for jewel theft? You would've hated me. I knew that. I loved you too much to have you hate me. And I still love you Peter," said Laura. 18

I would have still loved you, Laura. Just like I do now," Peter said as he held her hand tightly. 19

"After all this time?" Laura asked. 20

"Always." Peter replied.
