Fallen From Grace 1

LYRA1

“Be careful, my daughter,” Michael said as he pulled me against his chest for one last embrace before I left, “The Earth is a dangerous place, remember to stay faithful.”2

He pulled back to look at me yet again and I thought he was going to cry. I was his only daughter and it was so rare that angels had children.3

“Truly you have God’s grace,” Michael murmured, “Your mother would have been proud.”4

Yes, my mother. She was my father’s most sensitive subject. He truly had loved her, but when she had gone to Earth, she had fallen into sin and been banished from Heaven. Before then, however, she was a high seraph and a friend of the archangel Gabriel though he was a close friend of mine as well. Her union to Michael had been one of convenience though it was also out of love as well5

“I love you, Father.” I said and then it was time for me to leave.6

“Remember, Lyra, if you ever need anything, anything at all, the Lord is always listening.” Michael said and those were our parting words.7

MATHIEU8

“What’s wrong with Amelia?” Leo asked angrily, “She’s a beautiful woman, an old vampire, and she finds you quite attractive. Her bloodline is pure and is traceable back to ancient Rome. Why can’t you accept her?”9

I shook my head.10

“Master, she’s immature and rude! I don’t care how she looks or how pure her bloodline is; I will not take a woman as my mate if I cannot stand her presence.” I insisted, “There are so many other women out there, if you were just willing to let me-“11

“Mathieu,” Leo sighed, “I love you as though you were my son, but no son of mine will be consorting with…mortals.”12

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. It didn’t take much to make a mortal into an immortal and I would do it for a woman that I loved if only such a woman existed.13

“What’s wrong with them?” I asked for at least the hundredth time, “They’re so much more enjoyable to be around, they treasure life. We were mortals once too, master.”14

“Damn you, Mathieu, we aren’t anymore!” Leo snapped, “If they were all mortals at one point, what is the problem with accepting a vampire as your mate?”15

I was didn’t answer only because I knew that he was right and it shouldn’t matter to me. Instead of admitting that to him, however, I turned and left.16

“I’m going out,” I said by way of explanation, “Walking, hunting, I don’t know. But I’ll be back before dawn.”17

Author notes

Its for NaNoWriMo people....if you don't know what that means, let me break it down for you...

*There will be very few contractions
*Words that CAN be split in half (him self, every thing, any where, ect.) probably WILL be split in half
*Its going to include alot of random violence, murder, and (Because of me) useless romantic scenes because its all I can hink of and I only have a month...and word padding.
*It will be crap...just give me time

ps: Yes, this is an extension of the story I posted a while back called Fallen From Grace...that will work its way in as a scene after being heavily edited I bet.

I'll have to go back and read the first part of Fallen From Grace but what I read here I liked. You did very well and thank you so much for allowing me to read it.

  • Fall from grace... It's the lyrics to a song, I know... I liked how you switched around the heaven/earth themes. Instead of dying they go to heaven But I bet it's the pre-mortal existence... Cool. But I thought that Michael was the arch angel, not Gabriel. I've heard there are more, though, but Michael is like the boss. Gabriel, if I'm not mistaken, is the one who'll fly around spreading the Gospel in the latter days. Anyway, good story, and yeah, it DOES need editing, but whose does not, right? Don't answer that

    Good!

All beginnings of stories tend to start out slowly, but in this case, it sets out the basis of what's going on in a short-and-sweet way. It is interesting and it occurs to me that the characters are going to experience a lot of different feelings thoughtout the story. And I'm not quite sure what Mathieu is, a vampire? That part wasn't too clear for me. Overall, good start!

Yes, he's a vampire, I SHOULD have been clearer on that, I'm sorry

I'm glad you liked it though!
