All my fault {part 1}

From my hiding place, I see blood running down his wrists, flowing from his viens. Droplets stain the white carpet below him. The white rose he holds is stained with red droplets, marking forever. I open the door as quietly as I can, but it squeaks. He turns around and sees me, hurt and grief in his eyes.1

"No." I breathe. 2

I rush over to him and hug him. All he does is stand still. I walk out and pray he doesn't hurt himself to badly. A minute later, I hear a curse, A crash and a thud. Then nothing. Silence. I rush upstairs and see him, laying on the floor, his life's blood drained from his body. I look closer and see a piece of paper in his hand, a note. A suicide note...3

I scream as I wake up and pull the covers closer around me. Another nightmare. The same one as last time. I pull out my journal and write it down. I feel that somehow the white rose is significant, so I make sure to make a note of that. I try getting back to sleep, but it all seems to real to me. Only because... it was Jayden in that room, with blood running down his wrists. I try not to think about it as I look at the clock and decide there's enough time left for sleep until I have to get up. I let the darkness pull me under as the white rose stays in my memory, troubling my sleep...4

"Nicky!"5

I wake to the sound of Jayden's voice. Wait. Jayden? He never comes around in the morning. This can't be good.6

"Jayden?" I pretend to mumble as I open one eye.7

"Yea it's me."8

I sit up, openeing my other eye as I do so.9

"What are you doing here? You hardly ever come around."10

"What a simple guy can't stop to give his girlfriend a 1 year anniversary present?"11

I'd forgotten that today was our one year anniversary as boyfriend- girlfriend. Good thing I'd bought his present a month ago.12

"Oh my gosh! That's right! Oh, Jayden, you're the best for remembering!"13

He grinns, but the look really doesn't suit him. It's a bit weird. He pulls out a little box from his jacket pocket. It's wrapped very prettily, silver with gold flower designs and a gold ribbon. 14

"Give me one second. Just got to find yours."15

He rolls his eyes and lets me out of bed. I swing my legs over the side and jump onto the floor. I walk straight over to my closet and open it, searching through it for his present. 16

"Ah ha!"17

I pull out a wrapped case and another box. He looks at me weirdly.18

"Well I feel a bit spoilt. Good thing this was a really good one."19

He holds up the box in his hand. I smile and walk over to him. As I do, I examine his face and remember why I fell in love with him. His tousled black hair was messy, he hadn't straightened it yet. I can't really say much for my appearance. I sit back on the bed and hand the two wrapped presents to him. He sets the box he was holding on the bed, and picks up the smaller of the two first. As he starts to unwrap it, I smile. 20

"Oh wow! Aww Nicky, you really shouldn't have."21

I had gotten him two albums from his favourite bands, ones I knew he didn't have yet.22

"But, wait, it gets better."23

I hand him the bigger present, it's a bit heavy. He unwraps it with a devilish look on his face.24

"Nicky! How on earth..."25

I grin as he sees the present. It's a brand new iPod dock, speakers and all.26

"Now you can listen to your cds and your iPod at the same time. Do you like it?"27

"Of course! I love it, Nicky!"28

He leans forward and kisses me on the lips. I smile.29

"Okay, now it's my turn."30

He hands me the little box, and I examine it in my hand, a mischevious grin on my face. He rolls his eyes. I tug at the ribbon and it comes free of the box. I pull the wrapping off carefully, wanting to save it for another time. It's a little jewellry box. I smile a bit. I pinch the box lid with my thumb and forefinger and pull it open.31

"Jayden!"32

"I was actually hoping you'd like it, I've never given a girl a gift before so I kind of didn't know what to get you..."33

"It's perfect!!!"34

He had given me a little ring, and a pair of earrings to match. Both were studded with diamonds and were white gold, very beautiful. I gasped, wanting to know how he could afford it, then remembering his parents had left him a lot in his bank account. I grab him and kiss him. Then I remember what time it is. 35

"Come on we have to get ready for school."36

"It's Saturday."37

"Is it?" 38

"Yup."39

"AWESOME!"40

That means we can spend the whole day together, just me and him. I smile as I jump up and throw him out while I get dressed, putting on my ring and earrings. I dream about the day ahead...
