What I still like about you
I will never be able to say
What I still like about you
Is when you showed all of the love and respect Mum needed,
Wishing I could have that also
What I still like about you
Was the way you showed what a real father should be like,
Something I can only dream about even if you aren’t my real father
What I still like about you
Was when you were always there for me,
Wishing my real father could do the same1
What I still hate about you
I will say everything
What I still hate about you
Was when you proposed to Mum,
Not wanting you to be my stepfather
What I still hate about you
Was when you walked into the family without my consent,
Not even thinking how I will feel if you were to marry my Mum
What I still hate about you
Was when I had no choice but to accept you into the family,
Even if I didn’t want you around2
But the number one thing I hate you the most
Was that you showed what a happy family is all about,
Something my real father failed to do,
Leaving us an unhappy family3

So sad. My dad and I want to kill eachother every second of every day, so I totally get this. Well done. It's nice being able to relate.
