~~ The Sakingan ~~

Yisari Nakamo had heard stories before about the great Itachi Uchiha. They never quite mustered up to the legend in person though.1

Yisari had responded to an urgent ANBU mission from the Hokage. The other ANBU had been sent out yesterday in response to an urgent message of help from a nearby village. Yisari had been left behind as extra precaution for the village. They still judged her for her young sixteen year old age as well, though clearly enough on many occasions she had proven herself capable more so than the experienced adults.2

The Hokage had recieved word but a few hours ago of the mysterious pair of figures that were approaching the village from the opposite direction that the ANBU had been sent in yesterday. Nothing could reek more of a diversion. The Hokage was sending out reinforcements, but 'til they arrived Yisari had been sent to assess the danger of the two heading towards Konoha alone.3

She had expected trouble, but never so much as finding the great Itachi Uchiha. His partner, someone she recognised as Kisame Hoshigaki, a rogue ninja that was once one of the Seven Swordsman of the Mist. Needless to say, they had given her quite a fight so far. Her ANBU skills though were not to be doubted, but neither did she allow herself to become over confident. This was Itachi she was facing: he had been made an ANBU captain at 13 years old.4

Kisame now lay injured and unconscious, and would have been an easy picking if Itachi had not been such a stubborn opponent. She had been careful to avoid any of his Sharingan tricks. She was good at that.. avoiding a Sharigan often came as easily as breathing to her.5

Itachi regarded her with somewhat more respect than when he first saw her in an ANBU uniform, standing in the middle of their path and refusing to allow them to pass towards Konoha. 6

"Impressive," he remarked to her. "Your techniques are skilled. It's almost a shame that Konoha will be losing you."7

Yisari frowned and braced. "Are you so confident in yourself?" she asked him, with venom in her voice.8

He smirked, and tossed another kunai at her. She dodged it, but they could both tell by her movements that she had struggled to do so. By this stage in the fight after having two incredibly skilled opponents to face, and losing a good deal of chakra to Kisame when he fought with his sword Samehada, she was exhausted. Her movements were sluggish. Where on earth had the reinforcements gotten to!?9

"You may fight well, but your body has grown tired," Itachi told her. Like she needed to be told, the ache in her limbs told her that herself. She wasn't going to be able to match him for strength anymore.10

She was going to have to use her last resort for a weapon.11

Through the fight Itachi's eyes had blazed with the scarlet red of the Sharingan. Yisari had been able to avoid meeting his eyes, thus avoiding capture by them. If she was to use her last resort however, this would be best if she was captured by it.12

Yisari looked right up at him, and saw the surprise in his face before his face became blank again. "That was a foolish move to have made," he commented, before his eyes widened.13

Yisari felt the tug as she was yanked back by the trap of his Sharingan. The Tsukuyomi tossed her backwards into a strange world, with the vibrant orange sky. Her wrists and ankles were bound against a tree, and when she tried to yank them free she found it quite impossible.14

"You know where you are, don't you?" 15

She raised her head, "I do."16

"Then you know escape is impossible. This is the end of the line," he replied to her coolly.17

She laughed. Itachi's face was darkened, and showed no sign of the confusion and surprise he must have been feeling. "It is Itachi. But not for me."18

Her eyes widened out, and Itachi saw a change in her eyes. The plain colour suddenly changed, as if snaking tredrils overtook them in a warped spiral. The orange shade surrounding them wavered, and Itachi felt the sudden burst of agony in his own mind. The blinding pain forced him to drop his own Sharingan power, clutching his forehead.19

"What is this?" he asked, looking up to meet her eyes.20

All her saw was the mixture of colours, each one chasing the other in a spiral that encased the iris of her eyes. She stood before him. "It's my own clan's Kekkei Genkai, the one of the Nakamo clan. A lost art that no-one but me has anymore." She smiled, "It's called the Sakingan. No other Kekkei Genkai can overcome it, and it allows me total control over my opponent."21

"I could force you to kill yourself," she told him. "Or I could easily erase your memories. But that would require a dangerous amount of effort." By that, she meant it would draw out energy from the earth, and possibly kill everything in a large radius from where they stood. With Konoha so close by, she couldn't risk that. This was why she never liked to use her Sakingan. The effect on everything around her was the real danger or the Kekkei Genkai.22

The effects were already beginning to drain her body of energy, which already had little left after the fight as it was. She just had enough to hiss, "Never return here Itachi Uchiha. Take your friend, and leave this village. Return at the penalty of your own destruction."23

With that, she edged the Sakingan further into his mind, and he fell unconscious before her. It was all she could do to run back towards the village for a few minutes. Just out the way enough so that when Itachi woke, he wouldn't find her and slaughter her. She had little enough energy to kill the other two.24

Soon enough the after effects of the Sakingan tore through her mind, and she collapsed into the abyss of unconsciousness, waiting 'til her late reinforcements found her again.25
