I sat on the hotel balcony. There was no way I could sleep, thoughts of Leo ran through my conscious. My head felt like it was going to split open, all those thoughts of him, his blood, and his hurt face when I left...it was becoming more than unbearable.1
"Silvia?" Stephanie stepped through the glass slide door, and walked to the chair beside me, "what's the matter?" she spoke as she pulled out a pack of cigarettes.2
"Nothing...actually that's a lie, a lot. I can't...I can't get Leo off of my mind" I confessed, which honestly, took a little bit more of the weight off my shoulders.3
Stephanie lit her cigarette, and took a quick puff before she answered. "Back on to the Leo subject. Sil's look, maybe this is a sign, that something inside your screwed up head is telling you to go back to him and make things right? Have you considered that?" even though she was half asleep, Stephanie's words were making sense.4
"I don't know" was all I could say. Yes, Stephanie's words were really true. Dammit! I thought, I was feeling like shit right now. I mean, Leo is different, so am I, and well, who am I o judge him for that? Well, it was official, I was a hypocrite.5
"Well, then, the answer to all your problems is simple, go back to Leo, talk it out, and move on" Stephanie was right...as always.6
Early in the morning, Stephanie arrived back at the Hunters Guild mansion....and the memories of Leo ran through my head again, almost like my brain had them on repeat.7
"Silvia!" Stephanie smacked my shoulder "get your love sick but up there, let him screw your brains out, and get on with your life!".8
"Oh my god your sick!" I laughed, but stopped when some part of me sensed that Stephanie wasn't kidding (gross!). "Fine" I sighed, got out fo the car, and started up the stone stairs.9
A sound of glass breaking sounded inside the mansion, also the sound of some kind of struggle reached me.10
Instantly, I swung open the door, letting the sunlight flow into the mansion.11
Vampires hissed, and flew in different directions all over the mansion. Some of them unfortunately not making it, fell to the ground in piles of smoking ash.12
"Silvia!" a familiar voice shouted my name.13
My sight landed on Leo. Trying his best to fight off a vampire, Leo kept taking quick glances at me, basically, sending me a mental "HELP!". My vampire senses kicked in, my sword was out of its scabbard, in my hand, and ready to start dismembering vampire heads. With blinding speed, I had already sliced through the vampire Leo was struggling with.14
The chopped up vamp fell down two flights of stairs, and into the sunlight where she went up in flames.15
"About time you made it" Leo panted.16
"Yeah, remind me to talk to you later" and swiftly, I swung my blade around, decapitating a male vampire with the insane notion to sneak up on me.17
"You know, your speed still amazes me" Leo laughed as we watched the unfortunate vampire fall to the same doom as the last one.18
"Really? Well, there's a first time for everything" I laughed.19
"If you two are done having a quickie, can you help us down here?" Stephanie shouted angrily, while throwing a vampire into the sunlight with some new magic trick she had learned.20
"Shut up!" I retorted, and jumped from the third storie floor. Positioning my sword just right, I plunged straight through one vampire's head, and landed a kick another.21
The battle lead on for about three hours, until finally....they were all vanquished.22
All around me, I saw the bodies of dead vampires (some of them were on fire due to the sunlight shining powerfully through the front door).23
"Alright" Leo spoke as he put his sword back in his sheath "how in the hell did these vampires attack us during the day?" he demanded.24
How the hell did I know? I mean, I was half vampire, and still, in all my years of vampire hunting, never had I heard of any normal vamp being able to walk out during the day. As far as I knew, the only vamps able to walk in the sunlight were the queens and kings. But, there was no way all these dead vampires could be kings and queens, they all reacted to the sun like the others I've killed in the past.25
"Silvia?" Leo turned attention on me, "a penny for your thoughts?" he used a stupid cleachet, but that was besides the point right now.26
So, I told him how we could rule out king and queens, but it wasn't any help, it still had us lost...27
Well, after hours of cleaning, we finally had the mansion looking nice. Which thankfully, gave everyone some time to sleep and meditate on what they've learned today, and gave me some alone time with Leo, who was already in his office (hopefully expecting me).28
With a heavy heart, I raised my hand to knock, only to hear him say "come in" before my knuckles ever even touched the door. Okay, was he trying to scare me again? It was then that I decided that I wasn't going to overreact.29
Once I stepped inside, I saw Leo sitting in his desk chair, feet propped up in his desk, and his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. "Uh, Leo?" I tried to catch his attention.30
"Huh?" seeing how he jumped a little, Leo obviously was on edge, probably still concerned with the vampires. "Oh, maybe I'd be better off with the vampires" he giggled, there was also a little bit of exhaustion colored into his tone of voice.31
"Haha, you're a comic genious" I joked back, hoping to take a little bit of the tension off between Leo and I....no such luck.32
"Well, if your worried, I'm okay even after you threw me over your head and made me land on my side, which by the way isn't bruised thank god" Leo's attitude was acceptable, I couldn't blame him for being a little pissed at me...but I still couldn't resist the urge to let loose my witty comeback.33
"Awe, upset because you got your butt kicked by a girl?" my retort obviously wasn't the best thing.34
With blinding speed, Leo had his hand around my throat, and his face dangerously close to mine. "You never gave me a chance to explain things to you. I gave you chances, took you in even though you were the spawn of something so vicious as a vampire!" his voice was rough, and deep within hit there was hurt, pain, and wounded pride.35
Still, no one was going to treat me like this "look I don't know what you are, or who you think you are, but if you don't release my neck in two seconds you're going to get a knee in your nuts, and you'll be suffering from a decapitated arm!".36
Slowly, Leo released me. "Sorry" he said "I just..." he trailed off...he sat back down in his chair, and laid his head on the wooden desk.37
A few minutes past with nothing but awkward silence. Finally, I couldn't take it.38
"I returned" I began "so, I hope you won't mind answering my questions?" I waited for an answer.39
Leo picked up his head, sat straight and spoke "go ahead, ask away".40
"Alright" I began again "my main question: who, or what are you?" it was blunt, but it would get straight to the point.41
It took a minute for Leo to answer...but he did with "I am a vampire...a King vampire".....
