How Chicken Tore Us Apart-Chapter 1

It all started at the lake. I was five. My dad and I were on a father-daughter fishing trip. Dad jumped off the boat to cool off, but he didn't know about the rocks. The rocks killed him. He jumped and hit his head, kknocking him unconsience. When he didn't come back up, I thought maybe he swam back to shore. 2

I rowed back thinking maybe he is tricking me. I jumped to the shore calling him, "Daddy! It isn't funny. Come out now."4

I waited awhile, he didn't come. So I went back to our tent and rummaged through Dad's stuff. I pulled out his cell phone and quickley typed the "M". 6

Mom's number came up and I called her, "Mom, Daddy jumped into the water and he hasn't came back." Mom started crying, "Hold on honey, someone will be there soon!" 8

5 minutes later the paramedics showed up along with the police and fire department.10

They asked me tons of questions like,"Where were you when he jumped in?" 12

I would point and the man would tell the scuba team to start searching. Awhile later mom came and took me home. 14
