The Enchanting Adventures of Fallon and Friends

Some days I wished I was a normal kid. 1

Other days I wondered where I went wrong and what the hell I did to deserve this. 2

Because, as of right now, I'm running for my life from three legions' worth of demons. Because one certain girl, the one currently running with me, single-handedly managed to piss off the most powerful demon prince in the Netherworld besides Lucifer himself. 3

His son, Kelami. 4

How? I don't really know nor do I really care. All I want to do is get out of this place alive. And in order to do that, we have to get to the gateway between the Netherworld and the Human world. 5

That's about... oh... ten miles from here? 6

"Fallon!" my brother, Isaac, snarled, "You better figure out a way to get us out of here and quick! I refuse to die in the Netherworld!" 7

"Oh what? Did you think I planned this? Oh yeah, I just woke up this morning and said to myself, 'hey, I'm going to go into the Netherworld, and piss off Prince Kelami because it sounds like the right thing to do today,' really Isaac, if I knew a way I would!" she then spat. 8

I inwardly sighed, but I couldn't really afford to waste the breath. This sort of crap always happened to us, ALWAYS. Ever since that albino girl moved in, nothing but trouble has happened to us. And most of this trouble came from either heaven, hell, or some other parallel dimension that I was frankly better off not knowing about. But... things could be worse, I suppose. I mean... I could be leading a dull boring life like the rest of my peers. Day after day doing the same thing...9

"Oi!" Fallon called. "This way!" 10

Obediently my brother and I followed the girl down a thin alleyway, where we quickly clambered up the fire escape on the side of a building. It would take the wingless demons a while to all fit up that fire escape, but the ones that could fly... well..11

"Run dammit run!" she snarled at us. 12

And so, we were running rooftop to rooftop for our lives, like one of those action thriller movies that Fallon and I so often made fun of. 13

Life really sucked when Fallon was around. 14

Of course, its not like its totally her fault either. If I remember correctly, Kelami basically ripped us out of P.E because he wanted to know the secrets to Fallon's infamous chocolate chip cookies. Fallon, being Fallon, somehow managed to piss him off. I don't remember the exact details. All I knew was that we were running the mile for an A in P.E, and the next we were running ten miles for our lives. 15

So far things were going smoothly, we were on the main street again. Now dodging around traffic which was oddly heavy in the Netherworld, considering they were still in the horse-buggy era, even though Kelami owned a Wii...16

Anyway, not the point. 17

The situation managed to get worse though, even though I didn't think it could. Now they were getting frustrated and throwing stuff at us. 18

That stuff being giant balls of fire and magic. 19

And now, leading the chase, was Kelami himself.20

Oh joy...21

"Fallon!" The demon prince called. "Get your unholy ass back here! Give back the necklace!" 22

Both Isaac and I came to an abrupt halt, looking at Fallen in fury and horror. "WHAT!?" We yelled simultainiously. 23

Fallon gave a nervous laugh, her bright red eyes shrugging her shoulders in false innocence. In her hands was a golden pendent, with a ruby gem shaped like a skull.24

"Give it back!" 25

Kelami was getting closer, and we flinched at a sudden blast of magic that missed us by sheer feet. 26

"You stole from the prince of Hell!?" Isaac yelled at her. 27

Fallon pouted. "It was mine first. He stole this from me back in the second grade,"28

I didn't feel like arguing the idea of her going to elementary school with the prince of hell. In all honesty, at this point in my life I just decided not to question anything. 29

"Fallon!"30

The girl in question bounced over and hid behind me as Isaac tried to attack her and get the god-damned pendant from her. She grabbed onto my arm. 31

"Brandon!! Save me!" She whined, swinging around me and then hiding behind me. I felt my face heat up, even though I prayed that it wouldn't. 32

Isaac tried several times to get her, but I found myself being used like a shield. But this came to an abrupt halt when we realized that Kelami and his legions of demons were getting closer and frankly we didn't have time to deal with this. Survive now, murder eachother later. 33

So, we were running again, my poor asthmatic lungs feeling like they were about to cave. Good new was, we wouldn't have to run the mile. I hope. Unless time flowed differently in Hell then it did on Earth. Then... I dunno. 34

"Oh my... god... I see it!" Fallon called. "Just... a little bit... more!" 35

Holy monkeys of death, did we really run ten miles? 36

The dimensional gate-way was at the end of the road, maybe a hundred feet away. I never felt so happy to see those god-forbidden iron-wrought gates in my life. Ordinarily those things were a bad omen, like on our previous adventures through the dimensions, like when we went to the Alternate Shelton where there was no laws and they all spoke Hawaiian. Don't ask, I don't even really know how to explain that without sounding like a complete maniac.37

"So... close..." Isaac wheezed. 38

Just then, Kemali fired one last blast of magic at us, the force of the explosion enough to send us flying. What I bet he didn't count on was him actually helping us. The explosion propelled us forward, and we went through the gates without much hassle beyond that. 39

---------------40

"All right miss you've got a helluva lot of explaining to do," Isaac snarled. "You mean to tell me the real reason why Kelami tried to kill us is because you have his stupid necklace!?" 41

Fallon, being Fallon, merely shrugged. 42

After we were blown through the gates, Fallon immediately sealed them using the necklace she stole, and then we resumed the fight from earlier, me being used as a shield. This time she leapt onto me piggy-back style, and she used my hair to steer me away from Isaac. 43

"Brandon!" Why are you protecting her!?" Isaac gave a frustrated yell at me. "She nearly got us killed over some stupid trinket she lost when she was in kindergarten!"44

"Second grade, thank you very much. And it wasn't lost it was stolen. I've been waiting years to get that back. It's kind of a family heirloom. I'm totally useless without it," she replied. "Aaand, Brandon's protecting me because we're best friends for life, or did you forget that day?" the albino girl jeered at Isaac, flicking him on the nose. 45

Indeed, we became best-friends-forever the day Fallon first arrived in Shelton, when we went on our first adventure through Heaven when her younger brother went missing. I still had on the bracelet she gave me to remember the event. 46

So... anyway... school was out, it was six o'clock in the evening when we came back from the Netherworld. Disheveled and tired, we lethargically trudged back to the apartment complex. We stopped at the base of the stairs, Fallon giving us a big grin. 47

"Thanks you guys. Maybe one of these days we'll have a normal day without any paranormal activity after all," she said.48

Isaac merely sighed. "You know, I remember a time before you ever came here, and life was easy and it always made sense," he said. 49

She merely laughed. She did her ceremonious hug, and kissed him on the cheek. She always did that sort of thing, by now Isaac found it annoying more then it was embarrassing. 50

She stopped before me, looking up at me with those big red eyes of hers. Ordinarily those red eyes creeped people out, and in the back of my mind I realized that they were like Kelami's in a way, but they were starting to grow on me. 51

She hugged me, and leaned up and kissed me on the cheek. Nothing strange or unusual, the same thing she did every day when we went on some redundant adventure. 52

"See you guys tomorrow," she grinned. 53

And then, she disappeared up the stairs. 54

Isaac heaved a heavy sigh. "You know, I do really miss those quiet days, where we could just play video-games and not get sucked into them, you know?" he said looking at me. 55

I merely shrugged. What could I say? I mean... I was in love. 56

Author notes

Heh, this was just an idea that ran through my head one day. All of them are from a completely different story, but I wanted to do something a little more light-hearted with them, and perhaps put Fallon under a less malicious light.

Erm... what do you think? How's this for a debut?
