An Assassin's Melody: The Dragons-Chapter One

"Time for the next mission, boys,” An elf eared male who looked to be in his teens said to a group seated around a small round table.1

There were torches that dimly eliminated the room enough that the faces of the four sitting at the table were visible. The single table they sat at was surrounded by three other tables. Stone walls surrounded them on every side. Creaking from the old wood of the next floor above them roared louder than the howl of the wind outside as a furious storm has begun to form.2

A red-eyed boy across from him asked, “What’s it this time, Rune?”3

There was an uneasy silence before the elf replied, “Well, it’s a rescue this time. A first for us, but it shouldn’t be much harder than the others we have narrowly completed before.” He readjusted himself and explained further, “We will be rescuing a girl from the mansion of Ray Tamara. She has supposedly said to have been captured for the unique ability to control demons. Her powers have also been said to do other things, but no one has seen her to be sure,” Rune then passed the file around the table.4

There were accounts on people who had dared appose possessed demons and noticed they seemed in a daze, unafraid and unable to feel pain. Others had said they heard what had sounded like a siren’s call and they almost became entranced.5

After the file had made its way back to Rune everyone stood up ready to go. “Come on! The Rouge Dragons have a mission to accomplish!” the red-eyed boy exclaimed.6

“Right, Aidan. Let’s head out,” Rune said in reply.7

All four of them grabbed cloaks each pinning them in place over their shoulders. Aidan and the member of the dragons with white hair grabbed their swords. Rune grabbed his staff, while the final member with midnight black hair waited patiently at the door. The other three headed out as Rune grabbed a small dagger. He followed closely behind marking a tree every now and then with the dagger, so they could avoid getting lost on the way back. 8
