2Have you ever had that feeling of complete and totally irritation, and that you just wanted to stab someone in the eye till you felt better? Then ya know, maybe say sorry and run off like crazy before you were caught?3
I have. Right at this moment. So, let me tell you what happened after the taxi driver, Jack, left. I decided, if I ever wanted to find this 'Starline', that I would have to ask if there was a place or anything called that anywhere near here.4
So I marched my smart self into the Mobil and over to the young man behind the counter, and basically the conversation went something like this:5
"Excuse me, is there anything called 'Starline' around here?"I asked, leaning against the counter a little.6
"Yeah, it's in Reli."He said, not raising his head, as he sorted through papers on the counter.7
"Look..I'm not from here. I originally live one town over. So I have no idea were Reli is."I said, a little annoyed that he wouldn't even look at me."8
I heard him sigh, and he put the papers down, reaching over and handed me a map. "Have a good day."He mumbled, going back to what he was doing.9
I felt my fingers twitch with annoyance and I turned swiftly and stormed out of the jerk-hole-glory-Mobil. However I didn't make it far outside till I did need to look at the little map he gave me...10
"Reli...not that far. Thank you god."I muttered, and slid my backpack back off, putting the map in the front pocket. I lugged it back up and started my way to Reli.11

Needless to say, an hour and a half later I could see the road sign that clearly said in white against green 'Welcome to Reli!'13
"Oh thank you god! Almost there!"I said, but paused when I realized what I had to climb was yet another large hill. This was getting old, fast.14
Oh and when the ran started pouring down suddenly it only added onto the grand fun I was having. I looked up, closing my eyes from the rain for a second and shaking out my hair now that it was almost soaking. "You just hate me don't you?!"I shouted at the sky before cursing quietly to myself and starting into Reli.15
I squinted my eyes at the blinking yellow and red light ahead, trying to see through the rain. It must have been later in the evening than I realized, because it was getting dark fast. Of course the rain clouds didn't help that factor but I knew I had to get in somewhere dry, warm and somewhere I could stay for the night.16
"You lost?"I heard a voice by me ask. I yelped, jumping away and slipping on a puddle. I closed my eyes tight from the rain, and tried to gain my balance but I was sadly failing...that is..until a hand grabbed mine and pulled me steady on my feet again, all in the while, scaring the crap outta me.17
"God, you scared me!"I said, shoving my rescuer slightly.18
"Whoa, chill out. No reason to shove, miss."A deeper voice said as he held me by the arm as I caught my breath.19
"I'm sorry but I don't exactly trust strangers."I yanked my arm away. "Thank you for helping me not fall on my butt, but I have to get in that hotel there."I pointed to the thing, I was praying was a hotel. I took a deep breath and finally looked up at the guy who saved me from a butt-plant.20
I quickly held my breath, feeling my eyes widen. God he was familiar. Dark short hair and jade green eyes. He was built, that was for sure. Tight muscled arms hidden under his blue long sleeve, and a flashing smile. But the amusement behind the smile made me feel...uncomfortable. Or maybe I was paranoid.21
"Hotel? Miss, that's a restaurant."He chuckled, crossing his arms as he looked at me. His eyes never left my face, thank god.22
"Oh. I've never been here before."I stated bluntly and turned my back to him, starting towards the Starline. I scowled when I heard footsteps behind me.23
"Look, creepier, I don't need you following me."I said, not daring to look around at the thought he might pull me down and drag me off to do only god knows what.24
"..I'm headed to the same place you are, Miss."He said, his voice indicating he was smiling a bit. I scowled, and let my head drop to look at the ground.25
"Just..don't talk to me."Was the last sentence held between us. Sure, I was being rude, but I didn't want any unwelcomed company.26
The silence was made into a dull walk till we came up to the Starline. It was simply looking enough, red brick and their lit sign of yellow and red.27
It almost gave that Mom 'N Pop feel to it, but either way I was ready to just sit on my arse for a long long while.28
I sighed quietly to myself and pushed myself up to the doors, pushing it open. I figured, I was being rude enough already so I held the door open.29
The smell of good food made my stomach growl embarrassingly loudly. I cringed, while wrapping my arm around it and let out a slow breath. "I don't have cash for that.."I mumbled to myself.30
"I'll get you something then for not attacking me."The man who had followed me butted in. I was grateful inside but I wasn't quite sure if that was his way of 'making a move'.31
But either way if I had to walk more then I WOULD need the energy. I gave him a polite smile and nodded. "Thank you so much."32
"No problem, now we need to go meet Ethan. Oh, by the way, my name's Matt."He said, grabbing me by my arm as if he knew I was about to protest strongly about meeting any 'Ethan' guy.33
"Yeah, cool, I'm...Jenny. Now let me go!"I said, pulling and tugging, trying to get my arm away from his tight grip.34
"No, trust me, Rayne, you need to meet this guy."Matt said, dragging me over to a table. There was another guy sitting at it, feet propped up on the table which were dressed in combat boots, a black cloak jacket hanging off the back of his chair and his hands clasped behind his head and eyes closed. His brown hair wasn't but just a little but past his ears and it fell in his face, giving him that ultimate 'stay away' look.35
"Uh. No!"I snapped, yanking my arm away only to be fully picked up and slammed down into one of the chairs. I glared up at Matt who just simply smiled and went off to the front counter, leaving me with the complete stranger.36
Silence stayed around the table till Matt came back. "I got you just some chicken fingers and a Dr. Pepper, that alright?"37
"..Yes, thank you."I muttered, trying to not glare at him. "Now..just, a question..how the frick did you know my real name?"38
"I know who you are, simply."Matt said, looking up and over at the other man at the table. "Ethan doesn't how ever. I had to pull his big arse here too."39
"Then WHY am I here, and HOW do you know who I am?!"I yelled, but winced and quickly quieted down into a whisper. "Explain this all to me RIGHT. NOW."40
"All of it?"Matt questioned, an amused look in his eyes as he leaned forward. I scowled. "All of it."41
"All of it, Matt."The other guy, Ethan, spoke up finally, his voice a little rough. I jumped a little and jerked my head around to look at him. 42
Now that his eyes were open, dark brown orbs stared back at me. I narrowed my eyes at him, untrustedly and looked back at Matt, while moving my bag into my lap and resting my hand where my blade was.43
"You see, I come from a different place...and I know your uncle? He's told me all about you."Matt started.44
"...So you know my egotistical uncle."I scoffed, leaning back in my seat. "That makes me trust you just so much more since I don't even know him."45
"Listen.."Ethan interrupted, wining a killer glance from me. I simply got a small smile back.46
"Well, you, Rayne, are the child of two of the greatest members of the organization called Savato. They are guardian's of angels, and they have a power that's called, Kyriaki. This power ables you to concentrate and be more powerful then you ever thought yourself being. But see, you may only use it once a day, and ONLY for good reasons, or you will be punished but the angels."Matt paused to clear his throat and glance at both me and Ethan's faces. 47
I'm sure mine clearly stated that I believed that this was a bunch of bull like a freak was feeding...but something in the back of my head was saying that everything was freaky enough anyway so I should just nod and listen.48
"Ethan, your father, Linard, was head in the army that the Savato was gathering for the fight against...well, I don't know his name now, but Satan himself really. Your organization name would have been, Cyde. And you, Rayne, would have been called Azalon."Matt said, looking between me and Ethan.49
"People have already been calling me that.."I muttered under my breath, despite the look I got from Matt for interrupting again.50
"Also...Rayne, you and your mother have a gift. Only you and Ethan's family had it for some reason."He frowned, shaking his head while looking down at clasped hands. "You could make things appear...or be real, just with the power of your mind."51
My head jerked up, and my back tensed. I hadn't used that all summer...I hadn't had the need to use it. I had no problems up until today.52
"It's called Comatose. As...bad and twisted as that might sound, it's okay. Others can see the things you make, and it's touchable. It'll be there as long as you want it to be."Matt said, and looked to me. "Make something. Anything right here on this table."53
I blinked, biting at my bottom lip nervously, not sure if I should. I took a deep breath, and closed my eyes. I imagined something cold, to drink. Anything that would make it stop feeling like I had just taken a mouth full of sand.54
I heard Ethan's chair move and a 'Hm' from him, making my eyes open. And of course, a glass of water was set in front of me, bendy straw and all. God how I was happy. I greedily grabbed the drink and started to down it.55
About this time the waitress came up with my food, making my stomach whine and moan even more from the smell coming off from the fresh food. She set the plate in front of me and my glass of Dr. Pepper beside it. She casted the now empty glass that once held my cold water in it, a confused look.56
I snickered quietly to myself as she wondered off, and grabbed up one of the pieces of chicken, taking a rather large bite. I looked over at Matt who was just staring and gave him a look that said 'Well, go on'.57
Matt smiled a little and shook his head. "Well...we're..er..the world, is in trouble."He cringed, ruffling up his hair. "There's the other side of them of course...There's..someone called,"He paused, looking around. His eyes stopped at a older woman looking over with a narrowed glance.58
"..There's someone called Saffron."Matt whispered. "He's...well, he's Satan."He said, watching as my face dropped. I glanced over at Ethan out of the corner of my eye and frowned at the just curious look on his face.59
"So, let me get this straight, this, Saffron Satan guy,"I whispered his name, just in case. "Is the one putting the world in danger and us three have to save it and stop him?"60
"..Yeah, basically."Matt nodded, giving me a look like he knew what was coming next. But I really don't think he did. I would give anything to have a ride and not have to walk everywhere.61
"..Alright."I shrugged, leaning back in my seat.62
Matt just stared and I heard a chuckle from my left. Ethan. I looked over at him, shooting him a look, I still didn't trust him. "What's so funny?"63
"Nothing. But have you any idea what you'll be getting yourself into?"He asked, raising his eyebrows in a slight questioning matter.64
"I might and I might not. But we have to sometimes jump head first into things to learn, don't we?"I shot back, tapping my foot on the ground in a impatient matter. I had already finished my food and I was about ready to get out of there. Something about the place, didn't make me feel comfortable.65
"Sometimes."He simply said, grabbing up the bag next to his chair. I hadn't noticed it before but it held a nice knife of his own. I reached down to my bag, zipping open the front part of it and pulling out mine. It was still in it's black leather casing.66
Ethan pulled his out of the casing. It was all black, except for the rough ridges at the end of the blade. It craved up on the tip, as if the blade had it's own little grin, and the handle looked large enough for you to hold a firm grip too, but small enough so it wasn't to hard to hold.67
It dented in a rounded rectangular shape around the top middle. I simply just shrugged as he shot me a curious look, and put the blade back up. 68
It wasn't much different from mine, only it was all silver, but it wouldn't stain. It curved up more this his, and the handle was smaller, but just enough for my hand it fit it. It was costume made according to my mother. She had given it to me on my 14th birthday, simply telling me it was 'for protection.'69
I know understand why there was a cross in silver at the end of the handle, and silver painted chain link around the handle covered it. Protection was the cross and strength was the chain.70
"Now, if we're all ready to go, lets get out of here."Matt said, his voice suddenly panicked. I frowned, and both me and Ethan stood.71
"Why, what's wrong?"I asked, glancing around the room. I looked to my left just in time to see a black form crawling it's way out of the vent, and onto the floor, slowly making it's way towards us. "...Right." I grabbed up my bag and started for the door, the boys steps right behind me.72
"Rayne, can you think up a car, quickly?"Matt said, his voice rushed and panicked still.73
"...Uhm. I think so.."I said, closing my eyes as I pushed the door open, stepping out into the cold weather. I thought of black Ford Shelby Cobra Mustang, GT 500. With red stripes down the middle, and the red and black leather seats. My dream guy, the one my mother said I couldn't drive, but my car.74
"Nice!"I heard Matt say beside me. I opened up my eyes to see the car just waiting there, and to my surprise the keys were in hand. I gave a slight smirk and headed on over to the car.75
"It's alright I guess."Ethan simply said and got in the back. I gave him another glare and opened up the other back side doors, throwing my bag back into him before getting in on the drivers side.76
Matt got in on the passenger side, giving me a slightly frightened look as I ran my fingers across the steering wheel with what I was sure was a look that said I was going to go way over the speed limit.77
"..Can you even legally drive?"Matt asked, his voice unsure and frightened. He quickly buckled up, and tightened it against his chest. I heard Ethan do the same.78
I looked over at him with a grin as I started the car, listening to the roar of the engine. "Oh hell yes."I simply said before putting it into the right gear and pulling out quickly, throwing the car to the left a bit before putting it in drive and gunning it onto the road.79
