What is Love? Part two.

They get in the car and they drive in silence back to the house. The only thing you hear is their slow breathing. Lucie finally reached over and turned the radio on. She is soon engrossed into her music and completely forgets her current problems.1

When she reaches her house she hops out of her car and heads inside. When she reaches the front of her car she realizes that no one is moving. She looks at Derrick and mouths "You can get out now." Still no one moves. She goes over to the passenger door yanks it open and says to Derrick. "Hey guys you can get out now we are at my house. She is now getting really irritated because absolutely no one is responding to her. "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY CAR!" she screams at them. With not even her screaming working she slams the door and goes over to her porch step sitting herself down on it. Pretty soon Derrick gets out of the car and comes over there.2

"Luc, what do you except us to do? Act like nothing ever happened, just leave you alone? What?" Lucie looks at him for a moment then says, "Okay so tomorrow is Halloween, i love Halloween so i want to celebrate. I don't have a costume yet so would going to the mall and getting me a costume make you guys happy?" She hears shouts from the car. She looks over at Derrick and he is smiling from ear to ear. "Well we better get going before the mall closes!" He hops up and grabs her hand to help her up. They run to the car and hop in.3

The car hums to life and she turns the radio on. As they are pulling out of the driveway Party in the U.S.A. by Miley Cyrus comes on the radio, she turns it up and its blasting through her speakers and she drives along. They quickly get to the mall and they playfully argue about where she would park. Whenever they are finally parked and everyone is out of the car they lace arms to walk inside.4

When walking in all the smells, heat, and sights of the mall hit them. The first thing you hear Grace shout out is "Pretzels!" Michelle is way more interested in the sweet and sensual smells coming from the nearby Bath and Body works. The only thing Derrick can concentrate on is how beautiful Lucie looks when she smiles. 5

Lucies brain was lost in thought. She was looking at the lights and the people and how everyone had such a unique look about them. Not one person was exactly like another, thats what made life so interesting. She wondered how they got so much inside of one building, it was like a planet. While lost in though she somehow got disconnected with the group and collided with a tall, dark stranger. 6

As their body's slammed together everything he was holding including his cell phone went flying everywhere. His eyes shot up to her and as they met they seemed to just lock together.7

As she is staring into his dark green eyes she sees confidence, laughter, fun, but she also sees pain. Pain deep inside those shining green eyes. She wonders what is hurting him.8

Suddenly after a moment she became quite aware of her surroundings. She felt her face turn bright red and felt the words st udder out of her mouth. "I-i-i'm really sorry, i didn't mean to run into you." she bends down to pick up his bags and he looks her up and down. "Its very okay, i mean i know you didn't do it on purpose. Or did you? You know if you wanted to talk to me all you had to do was say hey." the embarrassment quickly left her face and became anger. 9

"Excuse me, just because you are good looking doesn't mean that every girl wants you." "That's not what i was saying miss, i just figured the way you collided your body with mine you were intending something." "Well for your information i wasn't intending to even run into you, i absolutely wasn't paying any attention to where i was going and happen to run into you." She handed him his bags that she had picked off the ground and promptly spun herself around. 10

When she did this she ran into a man giving out samples, candy corn and chocolate covered popcorn went everywhere. Her face turned red and she backed up running into someone else.11

After that she just stopped dead in her tracks, hearing everyone around her complaining about being ran over. After she finally felt like she could move without running someone else over she turned to go find her friends. She found them in Bath and Body Works. 12

"How the heck could you guys just leave me all alone! You should have seen the mess that i just created!!" "Sorry Lucie, we saw you collide with that stranger and figured that it would be a better idea to leave you alone." "Well first i took him out, then i took out the sample man, and then I just happen to take out a women with a stroller! I almost don't want to leave this store because i am afraid of hurting someone else!" "I think that this lotion would smell so good on you!" Exclaimed Grace!! "Oh my fucking god! Lets go and look at costumes so we can leave the mall!" 13

They leave Bath and Body Works walking down the hallway. Her arm was laced around Grace's and they reached the Halloween store. It was called Halloween Spirit! She ran in excited to finally look at the costumes. 14

There was all kinds of costumes, Candy Corn Princess, Sexy Cop, even a Nun! She grabbed all kinds of costumes ready to go back into the dressing room. First she tried on a cop costume she didn't like it. After trying on what seemed like a million costumes they finally decided on one. She was going to be an angel. 15

She was very excited, the only thing was she needed shoes and something to put over her legs. They went to another store and got some some really adorable white high heels. They were about four inches tall and they had golden dots around the front. Then she got some white fishnet stalkings. She also picked up some gold eye makeup and some pretty golden hoops. Whenever she got done she was ready to go home.16

When she headed out to the car she was about to call Derrick and Michelle when she actually got a phone call from Michelle. "Lucie we got you something amazing!! You are going to love it, meet us by the entrance of the mall!" Lucie and Grace quickened their pace so they could see what was so great. 17

When they got there Derrick was holding a big white plastic bag. Michelle looked like she was about to burst! 18

"We got you something, Open it Open it!!" Lucie takes the bag from Derrick. "You guys didn't need to get me anything." "Yea well we already bought it and ripped up the recite so you can't take it back!!" Lucie pondered on it a moment. Finally she decided that she might as well open it before Michelle exploded into a million little pieces. 19

she opened the bag a reached inside to feel something soft. She pulled it out and realized that it was the most beautiful pair of angel wings. They were big and pure white. All the feathers were perfect and they had little sparkles all over them. She gasped as she pulled them out. 20

"You guys they are absolutely beautiful! I love them so much!" Grace came over and hugged Lucie, Michelle also ran over and they all joined into a group hug. Derrick just stood over there looking at them. It was so unusual to see Lucie happy that he wanted to savor this moment. She pulled away and looked again at the wings. 21

She links arms with them as they get ready to leave the mall. They are walking to the exit and she sees the tall dark stranger she glances at him and again see's the pain. Once again their eyes lock and she loses reality. She gets lost in his eyes and she can almost feel his pain, it was deep inside where no one could find it. 22

She was jerked back to reality whenever Grace grabbed her arm pulling her towards the entrance. Inside her mind she wondered if she would ever see him again. If she would ever be able to feel his pain. 23

They ran outside and it was pouring rain, the only thing that Lucie was concerned with was keeping her beautiful wings dry. She unlocked the car and it beeped and they hopped into her warm, dry car. She handed her wings off to Michelle who was in the back. She pushed the key into the ignition and felt her car come to life. 24

Music exploded into her car making them all go silent. Lucie hated the song, she absolutely hated it. She only hated it because it reminded her of him. That's the last thing that she wanted to do was think about him. Derrick reached over and flipped the switch for the radio. She looks over at him and smiles. 25

When they reach they house she turns her car off, jumps out and runs to the door. Derrick gets out and chases after her. When she is inside its dark and she turns running into Derrick she feels his body against hers as he wraps his arms around her. He bends down and presses his lips against her neck, he moves his hands down her back pulling her closer and closer to him. Thats when he puts his lips against hers she feels an electric shock run through her as they kiss. 26

"Lucie where are you! LUCIE!!!" Michelle runs into the house followed by Grace, Lucie pulls away from Derrick heading to the kitchen to turn on some lights. She could feel her face buring from the intense moment that her and Derrick had just shared. She has a billion things running through her mind! She turned on the lights reveling everyone in the living room. 27

Derrick was standing there, he looked about confused as she did. He looked and her and gave her a soft look like he was asking her "Did you just like that?" She just looked at him and turned away. She opened the fridge while talking to her friends, "So are you guys going to stay over tonight or go home? I mean because it really doesn't matter my parents are still gone and i don't really want to be alone anyways." Grace was staring at her when she turned around digging her fingers into a tub of whipped cream. "Don't look at me like that i'm craving sweets!" She laughed and tossed a hand towel at Grace. "Hey so i can for sure stay over?" Asks Michelle. Lucie nods and continues eating whipped cream. She throws it on the counter and goes to search the cupboard for some food. "I'm staying over LUCIE!!" she turns and looks at Grace because of the sudden outburst. "Okay but we need to go to Safeway or Wal-Mart because we have no food here at all!"
"Okay lets go!!" Michelle and Grace run out the door to go get in her car, she looks at Derrick who is still standing there all dazed and confused. "Derrick are you staying over tonight?" He looks at her and nods, then he turns around and heads out the door. She runs and grabs him turning him around and planting her lips on his pressing him roughtly against the wall. After a second she pulls away and says, "I love your kisses." And walks out.28

When she hops into the car her two friends were huddled together whispering to one another, she starts the car and looks back at them. "You guys what are you whispering about?" They don't even look at her but continue to whisper. Lucie just turned around and put her car into gear getting ready to go. When Derrick finally gets in she backs out of the driveway and heads to the store. On the way there the car was filled with heavy chatting and loud music. 29

They finally get to Wal-Mart and she shuts the car off getting out slowly. She wasn't exactly sure what she wanted and how much money her mom left her on the card. She gets inside and decides to head to the cookie isle. She grabs random things makings sure that she likes them and quickly heads to a different isle. She grabs chips and soda and stops to think about what else she wants. "Lucie are you okay?" Grace asks as she walks up to her side. She hadn't even realized that she left her friends in her dust when they walked into the store, she turns and looks at Grace. "Yea i'm sorry i was just thinking about something else!" "Its okay girly we were just wondering. Derrick and Michelle went to get energy drink and some strawberries, they were not sure what you were doing." Lucie looked at her and let off a little laugh. "Well why don't we go and find them so that we can all go back to my house, tonight we are going to have a little party!!" Grace looked at her tilting her head a little, " Well then we better get home so that we can get the party started!!" They linked arms and skipped to the front door.30

Surprsingly they almost run into Michelle and Derrick on the way up. "We got some movies and some energy drinks!" michelle almost screams! "Well we got some junk food!" Grace says back equally as loud. "Okay you two we need to be a little more quite in the store we don't want the cops being called on us or being kicked out." They all walk up to the check out counter and the man standing behind it was very grumpy looking. She walked up giving him a very smiley face, he looked up at her partially glaring. She just continued smiling at him. "How is your night going umm Gordan?" He looked up at her his face lightining up a little bit, "I guess that i'm doing okay, i'm tired of working and i just want to go home and be with my family." She lookes at him and gave him a sad face. "I'm really sorry i can understand you wanting to be with you family. I wish i could help." "Its okay, umm whats your name. Your such a sweet girl." "Oh my name is Lucie, my friends call me Luc." "Well thank you Lucie you just helped my night probably 100%, even if i can't be with my family i know that i should try to keep a positive attitude." She smiled at him and nodded her head. "Have a good night and enjoy your time that you have with your family!" she waved goodbye and her friends walked away. 31

Once in the car she turned up her music. She really just wanted to think a little bit, there was a lot on her mind. First of all the Halloween party that they were going to tomorrow night, second of all Derrick and her's first kiss. Those were actually the two main things on her mind but she was so confused about her and Derrick. She wasn't sure if she liked him or if she was just lonely. She didn't want to break his heart though. She got home way faster than she thought she did and she had to sit there and collect her thoughts. Grace tapped on her shoulder "Luc are you sure your okay? We are a little worried about you." "Yes i'm fine i was just thiking about something." "Okay if your sure." She gets out of the car grabbing the bags from the store. 32

"The house is so freaking cold!" She runs over to the kitchen throwing the lights on. "I need some heat in this place!!" She sets the bags on the the counter and goes to turn the heat on. Her friends slowly walk in the house like they had did something wrong. Grace comes in and sits at the bar. "So what are you we going to do now?" "Well I was thinking that we could play a game or just talk, we always find something to do!" 33

She runs over to Grace and wraps her arms around her. "I love you Grace your my best friend." She just smiles at her and wonders what brought that up. Michelle comes out from the bathroom dressed in short shorts and a white tank top. "Excuse me, those are my freaking shorts!" She laughted and ran to tackle her friend. They were wreastling on the floor and Grace was yelling at them. Derrick walks out from the room, he looks really disapointed. "Whats wrong Derrick?" Lucie gets up and walks over to him. "Oh nothing my grandpa that lives in Arizona is sick." Lucie gives him a sad face and goes over and hugs him. "I'm sorry, if you want to go home you can." "No I want to stay here." "Mmkay so lets watch a movie. 34

She runs over and gets the movies out from the plastic bag. There is also candy and energy drinks and ice cream. She put the ice cream in her freezer and she looks at the movies. "Awwwwwww The Notebook, I love this movie! We are so watching it!" She went and put it in the dvd player, no one said anything to her. After she put it in she went to her room to change. "Will someone please dish me some ice cream? I want the mint kind!" She strips off her shirt and her pants and was in her closet looking for some sort of bottoms, she hears her door open and close but she figured it was just one of her friends. Thats when Derrick walked around the corner, "Oh my gosh Derrick!" He turns bright red but just stands in place. Its not like he hadn't ever seen her half naked. 35

He walks over to her and wraps his arm around her waist pulling her into a intense hug, he barry's his face into her neck and presses his body against hers. She wonders what is going on. Thats when he pulls his head up and she looks at him as he pushes his lips against hers. It felt like lightning was running through her viens. She deepens the kiss and puts her arms around her neck, she was liking this more than she thought that she would. 36

"Lucie someone is on the phone for you! Its a boy!!" Grace was screaming for her from the living room. She tore herself away from Derrick not wanting to though. She slipped a band tee over her head, she wasn't even sure who it was, then she found her pink sweats on the floor. Befor she walked out of the room she grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him lightly on the lips. 37

"Who is it?" She ran over to Grace grabbing for her phone. "Hmm I don't know why don't you talk to him." She put the phone higher because of how short Lucie is. "Give me the phone!" She jumps up almost grabbing it, finally Grace decided that she would give it to her.38

"Hello who's this?" The voice on the other line surprised her. "Well it hasn't been that long since we talked I figured you would have remembered me!" She smiled because she knew who it was, "Oh my gosh Josh is that you?" "Yes my sweet sponge cake, its me Josh." She laughed out loud and went over to sit on the couch. "Your right it has only been probably a week since we talked. What have you been doing?" "Well I haven't been doing much, missing you i guess." She loved talking to him, his voice comforted her and made her feel safe. He wasn't like a big guy, he was actually very small. He was really skinny and pale. He had bright blue eyes the only harsh thing about him was his dark black hair. He was so cute. " Aw you miss me? Its only been a week since you have seen me, how could you miss me already." "Well I miss you every single day!" 39

They talked for a while on the phone. She looked at the clock and noticed how long she had been talking to him for so she decided to get off so they could watch the movie. "Hey Josh, i'm supposed to watch a movie with my friends so why don't you just text me." "Mmkay Luc, that sounds good. Bye darling." "Bye Josh, i'm glad we got to talk again." She hung up and slid her phone into her pocket. "Hey guys i'm really sorry that I was on the phone for so long." "Its all good Luc, so are you ready to watch 'The Notebook'?" "Yes! Lets go and watch it!" 40

They all go and sit down. Grace and Michelle were laying down on the couch. So she scooted them over and sat down. Of course when Derrick came to sit down he wanted to sit by the arm and he cuddled up to Lucie. She felt warm and its like as soon as the movie started she fell asleep. It seems like once one person fell asleep the rest of them did to.41

What woke her up the next was a very loud ringing noise. She thought it was just her dream, after a few minutes of hearing it she woke up. She was laying on Derricks chest and she pushes herself up and he let out a big breath as she pushed on his rib cage. "Hun please get off my rib cage." "I'm really sorry, but did you hear that? I don't know where it was coming from but I believe that someone was calling me." She got all the way up to see what time it was. Three-Thirty it was Three-Freaking-Thirty in the morning. Who would be calling her at this time in the morning. She went to find her phone. Hmm it was unavaliable I wonder who that could have been. 42

She walked to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She didn't have any makeup on anymore, but she didn't feel like crap. She had slept good for the first time in forever. She went pee and then walked back out into the living room. Everyone was still sleeping and she felt like she couldn't go back to sleep so she decided to make some breakfast. 43

She was halfway done when she heard someone outside scream. She dropped her spatula and ran outside. The grass was cold and a little frosty her bare feet got cold but she didn't care. She looked around for whoever had just screamed, she couldn't see anyone. Not just because it was dark but because there was no one out there, she just kept searching and searching. Finally she went back inside and Derrick was up. He came over and they started whispering to one another. She finally came to the conclusion that she was hearing things. 44

After she ate she decided that she was going to take a shower. So she told Derrick that when her friends got up they could eat something. She was only gone for about forty-five minutes but when she got out she just slipped back into her sweats but then she put on a different band tee. This one was her one of her favorite bands, it reminded her of when her and Dalton had actually went to the concert. She walked out to find her friends watching a stupid t.v. show.45

"Hey you guys, guess what time I got freaking woke up?" "Hmm we already heard about it, we are sorry. Did you ever find out who actually called you?" "No I didn't, but it doesn't matter. It was like my body was ready to wake up anyways. I'm just going to relax for the rest of the day, we don't need to get ready for the party until six." 46

So the rest of the day went on and they all just relaxed hung out and eventually they got ready. "Hey Hey Hey I need my wings, would someone go out and get my wings!?" Derrick went out to the car to get her wings, he hadn't gotten to see what the girls looked like because they wouldn't let him. 47

"Hey where is my gold eyeshadow?" "Yea where is my purple mascara?" "Oh my gosh guys where did you put the bobby pins?" It was like a circus in the bathroom. Three girls shoved into one bathroom trying to get ready for a Halloween party isn't the best idea. "Ouch you just stepped on my foot with your freaking heels." "Sorry I didn't do it on purpose!" Lucie was applying mascara to her beautiful golden eyes. She had already put on all her makeup and was was trying to figure out weather to put bronzer on. "Hmm guys I think that we all look very sexy!" Lucie was an Angel, Michelle was a Nurse, and lastly Grace is a Devil. "So guys I think that we should go, we have left Derrick out there alone for long enough."48

They all busled out of the bathroom, you could see a cloud of hairspray come out with them. Wow you guys all look beautiful. He said this while he was staring at Lucie. "Who are you talking about, Lucie,Lucie, and Lucie or all of us?" "I'm talking about all of you guys." "Well you guys lets go!" 49

They ran out to the car and all hopped in. They had already decided that Derrick was to be the Designated Driver. Lucie wasn't planning on drinking much. When they got to the party it was so busy.50

There was a lot of people there, most of them already drunk. There was also music and a lot of smoking. They walked in and immediately got handed a drink. Thats what started it all off. She drank and drank and drank, its like she didn't get a censor in her head to stop. "Lucie, we need to go!" Derrick found lucie trying to dance but also trying to hold herself up. "Lucie we are leaving now!" He drug her out the door and put her in the car himself. The other two were already in the car. It was about Three in the morning and he had decided that it was time for them to go home.51

On the way home he was going the alloted speed limit, but he could feel that something was going to happen. Lucie was complaining about throwing up. She had just gotten done saying that she was really hot rolling down the window sticking her head out. There was a light ahead and Derrick was watching it with care. He was almost halfway through when there came a black car. It was speeding and it didn't seem like it was going to stop. He stepped on the gas trying to get through it before the black car got to them but that didn't help. Just as Lucie put her head back inside the window the black car collided with her side of the car. All she felt was a huge crash to the side of her and then her entire world went black. 52
