I walked down the road to see her crying on a bench. I couldn't help but feel like I needed to comfort her. I walked over to her and sat next to her, not saying anything at first.1
She looked up from her hands at me, her face a shade of red, and her eyes bloodshot. She stared at me for a while. I couldn't say anything yet, for I had to wait for her to feel at least a tiny bit better. She stopped crying, and smiled slightly. "Hi." She said, her voice cracking from having cried for so long.2
"Hi." I said, as I moved a little closer to her. "Why are you crying?" I asked, worry filling my voice. "I miss him so much..." she replied. She loved one named Joey. For, Joey had been my best friend, so I know the pain she was in. Joey had left our small little village to get revenge on his older brother for killing his family.3
I sighed. I knew that she loved him, but I still couldn't do anything to comfort her, though I loved her. "I'll make him come back if it kills me, like I promised to you." I said, solemnly. I couldn't bring myself to help her through her depression. I just couldn't draw the strength to do so. I stood up and began to walk away. "WAIT!" she shouted. I stopped, mid-step. "Don't leave me here alone.." she sobbed, as she stood up and miserably waddled over to me. I sighed again, not wanting to hurt her, so I took her to my apartment for now. She was about as tall as I am, and I'm about 5'7". 4

She sat in the chair, not wanting to move, and pulled her legs up against her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs, she sat there, crying again. I walked over to the kitchen and laid my head on the refrigerator, its cold metal felt good on my burning forehead. I wasn't feeling very good, but I couldn't take medicine and go to bed while having her stay in the living room, alone and depressed. I looked at the refrigerator, and opened it. I decided I was going to make food for the both of us. That food having been ramen, because I didn't have anything else to make. I took the bowl over to her. I handed it to her softly, cautioning that it was a little hot. She took the bowl and stared at it. She had stopped crying for the moment, but I knew that she would start crying again. "Why are you doing this for me?" she asked, sadly. 6

I hesitated for a moment, thinking over what I should say, just in case I say something wrong. "Well..." I started, but shut my mouth, rethinking over what I wanted to say. "Well, I couldn't let you starve while I ate in front of you, now could I?" I asked, smiling. 8

She smiled back, and started eating the ramen quietly. 10
