Darkness seeped over the mountains of Tennessee. The night was cold and silent. It gave no light to guide school teacher Tiffany Franks to her cabin. Tiffany had quite an imagination. One creepy sound in the dead of night would set her mind wild. She was already spooked because she swore she had heard faint screams. And only to make matters worse, in a few minutes she would have to cross through the scary woods that had rumors of being haunted. Tiffany breathed heavily as she walked through the dark woods. She began to smell something foul. “It smells like a dead animal,” she said in a whisper. The smell got worse as she walked deeper into the woods. 1
“Oh no!” She cried. She had stepped into something wet and immediately guessed it was mud. “Great! Now I have mud all over my new shoes!” But what she thought was mud was something much worse. She took off her shoes and looked at them in the little silhouette of light that shined from the moon through the woods. It wasn’t mud on her shoes, it was blood. Tiffany screamed and dropped the shoes. Below her was a pool of blood. It led on as a trail to bush. Tiffany could see something sticking out from behind the bush. It was a girl’s leg with cuts all over it. She moved the bush and looked behind it. A dead girl lye there covered in blood. Tiffany screamed and tears began falling from her eyes. She knew this girl had just been slashed and the killer was still in the woods. Tiffany’s heart beat a million miles. She couldn’t stop crying. She was terrified. Noises could be heard all over the woods now. She heard all kinds of animal noises. And she sensed that someone was standing right in front of her but was hidden. She peeked behind a tree. No one. She turned to her side and there he was. The killer. He wore a cloak and held a scythe in his right hand. “The Grim Reaper? No, no! This can’t be happened, this had to be a dream!” She said. But when he swung his scythe at her and it slashes the side of her arm, she knew this was real. Blood curdling screams left her mouth as she literally ran for her life. But everywhere she ran to, the Grim Reaper was standing before her. Every turn she made, every twist, he was there. He grabbed her arm and through her onto the ground. She tried crawling away but he pulled her back from her legs. 2
“It’s your time, Tiffany Franks,” He said. Tiffany screamed and screamed but her cries only echoed through the woods. The Grim Reaper swung his scythe at her over and over again until he knew she was dead. Tiffany’s heart beat one last time, and she breathed her last breath. Then the Grim Reaper picked Tiffany’s body up and carried her away deep into the woods. A tear fell down Tiffany’s cheek as she lay in his arms covered in blood and dead. No one ever found her body.
