The Boastful Girl

Once upon a time, there was a girl. Her name was Jessica. But she was very boastful. One day, her friends were talking about going for a picnic. Jessica knew how to drive, but she was very slow. The friends needed someone to drive VERY FAST to get to the park in time. 1

"I can drive very fast!" Jessica boasted. Her friends agreed Jessica should drive. SO on the day on the picnic, Jessica drove the car, driving as fast as she could. When they reached the driveway to the park, she drove right past it!2

"Hey! Wasn't that the way to the park?" one of her friends cried. 3

"I don't think I don't need a backseat driver thank you very much!" Jessica growled playfully. But she turned around to talk to her and suddenly, one of her friends cried, "LOOK OUT!" But Jessica wasn't quick enough to turn around. They smashed into a tree but fortunatly, none of them were badly injured. The friends glared at Jessica. Jessica hung her head. 4

THe next time Jessica and her friends had a picnic, she never offered to drive again!
