Ruby Jr.

There is this talented girl named Ruby. To feel control in her life Ruby began skipping meals and it became habit. Yet, one day while Ruby was stumbling through another day of sadness trying to find her smile. Ruby found her smile in a beautiful Ruby red fish at a pet store. 2

The fish swam around happy as can be just like Ruby sometimes had felt and was wanting to feel again and always feel. Ruby bought the happy little fish and named her fish after her,  Ruby Jr. 3

Ruby Jr. didn't know how to let Ruby know she needed to eat so Ruby Jr. quit eating because the fish loved Ruby so much.   Ruby Jr. loved Ruby SO much she wanted to be just like Ruby  Since Ruby Jr. had noticed Ruby wasn't eating...  Ruby Jr. didn't eat either. 4

Ruby Jr.'s death showed Ruby that the same thing could happen to her if she didn't eat.  So in memory of Ruby Jr. Ruby began eating seven red things a day in memory of Ruby Jr. And, 5

Suddenly Ruby saw there were so many things red: Apples, beats, cranberry juice, strawberries and even red striped real peppermint candy. 6

To this day when Ruby sees a ripple in water she knows it is Ruby Jr.'s spirit swimming happily since he knows Ruby learned from a wee little fish she needed to eat or, too, would one day be missed.7
