Just Another Manic Monday1
I had never heard Mr. Neville’s class as quiet as it was at that moment as Blake and I were staring each other down. I heard Mr. Neville clear his throat, but I wasn’t about to give up my stance on this. Finally, He placed his hands on our desk, and announced that the rest of the class could leave. 2
“Now, I usually don’t meddle in the lives of my students, but when there personal relationship interfere with my teachings, then I have no other choice.” Blake looked up at him and made a face. I’m not sure what you would call it. 3
“We have no personal relationship…” Blake snapped. He was either a little offended that Mr. Neville assumed this was about us, or offended that he thought we were together. I tried to tell myself that it was the assumption, but I couldn’t be too sure. 4
“We were just talking about the movie and I might have over reacted my thoughts.” I offered in defense. Mr. Neville looked between us and as he brought his hand to rub his chin in thought. I could tell by the look on his face that he didn’t quite believe us, which was odd, because Mr. Neville could always tell the difference between a lie and the truth.5
“Well then, next time just pass notes the way you always do when you think I’m not paying attention.” Mr. Neville stated with a smile. “Get out of here.” 6
Blake was out of the room in a flash it seemed, as I picked up my things and began around the desk. I left the classroom and turned the corner and saw Blake leaning against some lockers. He saw me coming and stood up straight. As I passed him he began following close behind.7
“I didn’t mean for us to get into trouble.” He stated with a sigh. “I just… You know what, never mind.” He stated suddenly and then walked off. 8
What the hell was that? I went after him and grabbed his arm. “What is going on with you? Are you bi-polar or something? Why can’t you just talk to me?” He turned to me with a weary look. 9
“Because I don’t trust you.” He stated softly. I let go of his arm, wounded by his harsh words. “I’m sorry.” He headed off out the door again. 10
I stood there for what seemed so long before finally going out to my car. As I reached it, a note was on my drivers side seat. I opened the door and reached it to get it. Throwing my bag in the back I sat down and started my car. As I waited for it to warm up a bit, I opened the folded piece of paper. 11
I’m an idiot. 12
9:00 at my house.13
Please? 14
Blake15
I read it over a few times to be sure that’s what it really said. 16
“Hey!” I nearly jumped out of my skin at the loud voice. I looked up to my window and saw Alice smiling at me. She began to giggle at me once she realized she had frightened me.17
“Jesus Christ. What are you doing here?” I asked her. 18
“I had my mom drop me off. I wanted to hang out with you a bit before the dreaded family movie night tonight.” She said with a frown. 19
Alice hated spending too much time with her family. I, personally, thought they were really great. Completely unbelievably happy. It was like a dream to be around them. Alice thought it was weird and wished that they’d just fight like normal parents. I didn’t have the will to tell her just how much she wished that wasn’t true. 20
“You can come if you want, it would be less annoying.” She stated. I handed her the note that Blake had left me. She read it almost as many times as I had before looking up at me skeptically. 21
“What happened?” 22
“We got into an argument in Mr. Neville’s class over something completely stupid and then afterwards he said some things.” 23
“Like what?” Alice asked suddenly defensive. I smiled at her slightly. She was always so quick to defend me. A habit she acquired since Jeremy’s affection toward me grew. 24
“He wanted to tell me something but just turned around and walked away and I asked him why he couldn’t just talk to me and he said it was because he didn’t trust me.” I replied, the sour tone in my voice showing it still stung a little. Alice furrowed her brow slightly. 25
“So…” 26
“So, what?” I asked her as I pulled out of the parking lot. 27
“Are you going to go?” I looked over at her. I hadn’t really thought about it. 28
“No.” I stated firmly. “I’ll just let him sit and believe that he really hurt my feelings.” I replied. Alice laughed and called me mean but I didn’t really care at the moment. That was the plan I decided on. Again, I wasn’t going to go out of my way to get Blake to sleep with me.29
And in the beginning, I intended to stick to the plan.30

Okay, the conversation cuts off abruptly, but I figured it'd end quickly after the chapter break. Umm there are a couple of glitches in this one that I'm not used to seeing.
P3 use "their personal ..." rather than there.
p5 "might have over reacted my thoughts" is awkward phrasing, unless kids speak that way these days. And overreacted I think goes best as one word. Then there's "Mr. Neville looked between us and as he brought his hand to rub his chin in thought" and I wonder what he did AS he broght...
I'd definitely italize the note frm Blaine.
And a good open ending. This thing is still wide open and intersting and fun. I'll review some more chapters when I get a chance.
