When I woke up the next morning, I was warm. Way warmer than usual. Probably because of all the blankets that were on me; there had to be at least four or five. 1
“It’s about time you got up, hmm?” Deidara said, kneeling beside the bed I was laying on. “You were really out of it. Hm.” 2
“Yeah, I— Maki!” I sat up straight. This urge made me want to think about Maki, even though it did hurt me. 3
“Who is that, un?” 4
“She’s my best friend that d…”5
“That what?” Deidara asked. “Aria? Why are you crying, hmm?” 6
“Maki was my best friend, but she died three days ago,” I said between sobs. 7
“Three days ago? Were there markings on her body, un? Her wrists, neck, anywhere?” 8
“Well, there were marks on her wrists, neck and shoulders, like something held her like a…” I looked up. 9
Deidara already looked worried. He managed to say, “Marionette, yeah?” 10
“I only know her one enemy who would use a puppet—Sasori,” I said. 11
Now he looked very uncomfortable, and he was muttering, “I don’t understand why… She must’ve been really…” 12
That’s all I caught of that. 13
“Whatever,” I said.14
“What?” Deidara asked. 15
“WHATEVER. It’s over, anyways. She’s dead. I can’t bring her back. Even if I tried, she’d just die again.” Now my eyes were just red from being mad. 16

“So it’s official?” I asked Deidara. “I can stay?” 19
“Yeah,” he said. “Official since this morning, and you’re on my team. That’s what you wanted, yeah?” 20
“Well…YEAH!” 21
“Good. Let’s go.” 22
“Where?” I was filled with curiosity.23
“If it’s okay, un. Your old…village.” 24
I nodded. “Sure!” I was all smiles too. 25
He did his clay thing and we were off in no time, only this time on a faster bird.26
“How long will it take for us to get there?” I asked. 27
“On the usual bird, ten hours,” Deidara said. “On this bird, one and a half.” 28
Wow, that’s a big difference, I thought. 29
The whole way I was admiring my ring. I couldn’t really figure out what the shape of the engraving was. And the robes? I cannot even begin to describe how comfortable they were!” 30
“We’re here.” Deidara interrupted my thoughts. 31
“Already?” I asked. “Wow. That was fast.” 32
Once again, he grabbed my hips and lifted me off. 33
“Thank you very much,” I said. 34
“Welcome,” he said. 35
When we were walking through the village, I heard Sensei calling my name. 36
I stopped walking and told Deidara to hide. He hid in an alleyway nearby. My heart was pounding. I forgot how Sensei was the only one who could tell my blonde hair from any other blonde hair. I don’t know why, it was just a talent he had. 37
“What?” I snapped. 38
“Where the hell have you been, Aria?” Sensei asked. “Everyone has been worried sick.” 39
“Don’t blame me, okay? You’re the one who told me to leave.” 40
“I told you to leave for two years and tell me. Not to… Not to run away and not tell me.” 41
I scoffed. “Do you really think that, after what you said to me, I’d tell you when I was leaving and where I was going to?” 42
“You’ve never disobeyed me before, Aria,” Sensei said. “You’ve always listened to me. Ever since you were two.” 43
“I don’t get why you’re making it into a big deal, Sensei, it’s not like I CAN’T take care of myself!” I retorted. 44
“It IS a big deal if you go off somewhere far away and the dojo—or me—doesn’t know where the hell that place is!” 45
I groaned in frustration. “You know, it’s not like you’re in love with me!” I covered my mouth. Crap…46
Sensei blushed. 47
“Oh, my gosh, Sensei,” I said, holding back a snicker. “That is ILLEGAL, you know. And kinda perverted… Besides, do you SEE what I’m wearing? I’m a part of the Akatsuki.” 48
“Aria—” Sensei started. 49
“Touch me and die.” 50
