She looked at the ground far below her.1
It seemed to be loaded with possibilities and beauty, and the rest of the world was taking a risk and jumping.2
She was never one to gamble, especially when it was her life on the line.3
The people around her were still jumping, and not once did she see one with a parachute.4
They could face the danger without thinking twice about it, so why couldn’t she?5
There was something deep down telling her not to follow the pack, to just hold on a little longer and everything would be okay.6
She did what the voices told her and it was all over.7
The world came crashing down around her.8
She watched with grim fascination as first trees fell, then houses, then skyscrapers.9
She didn’t move or breathe as everything that had once been the world crumbled below her feet. 10
Still, she didn’t doubt what the angels were telling her to do, and she listened to their words of comfort humming in her ears.11
She was completely fine when the world stopped imploding, having watched from above. 12
It all crashed down on the ones who jumped.13

If your story is about parachuting, I have a friend who has had hundreds of jumps ahead of him and they were all invigorating. He can't do it now since he ended up in one accident that made him decide not to do any extreme sports anymore but he didn't regret it. He's fine now but he has the memories. You should always take a chance in life to see where it leads you. I hope you or your character is not too depressed. There is a lot to life and your story seems to focus on the the bad stuff that happens. It is well written but I hope you see the good as well.
