Chapter 5
As I laid in my bed the next morning, I thought about what Tristen said. Adelie tried to explain to me what was happening, but it was same thing over and over again: HVI's spies were switching Tristen around to other places every time Revlyn was closer to the location. Samia was alive and plotting, trying to find Revlyn and blah, blah, blah. I didn't want to hear anymore, so she sighed and finally left my room after the tenth time I told her to leave.1
Five minutes, she came back with Collin on his cell phone, glaring at me angrily as he talked in French. He shoved his phone to me.2
"It's Revlyn," he explained after I was staring at the phone like I didn't know what to do with it. "Make it quick."3
I ignored him and said in the phone, "Hello, Revlyn?"4
"Cherie," he said soothingly. "I'm sorry about yesterday, ma petite."5
"It's fine," I said nonchalantly and Adelie cleared her throat and shook her head at me. "Um, where are you?"6
"Can't tell you that," he said quietly. "It's top secret for you, Emily."7
"Why? Why can't you tell your girlfriend anything? Why is everything so top secret around here?"8
He said in a tired voice, "Why do you want to know everything, my dear cherie?"9
I was starting to get tired of him. "I want to know what's going on, Revlyn."10
Collin took the phone from me and said, "That'll be all, Miss Human-Who-Wants-To-Know-Everything-About-What-Immortals-Do."11
Adelie took the phone from Collin and glared at him. She gave me back the phone and told me not to ask a lot of questions. I could tell she had something to say...more like a lot of things to say.12
I took the phone from her. "Revlyn, do you have something to say to me?"13
I heard him pause, then say, "I talk to you later, cherie. You don't have to know everything, d'accord?"14
Before I could protest, he hung up on me. I gave the phone back to Collin and started to scream. Adelie tried to comfort me, but I wouldn't let her. I pushed her away, angry because Revlyn was keeping more secrets from me and wouldn't tell me until the end. I hated the way he was acting. Maybe, it was the way I was acting. I was asking a lot of questions. I had to back off.15
That night, it was just Collin and I at the dinner table. Adelie was outside, looking for food for her and her only. I had told her it wasn't a good idea for Collin and I to be together for dinner, but she smiled, patted my cheek, and said that she would be five minutes.
It was an hour since she left. Collin was getting impatient with his food and I sat quietly, trying not to yell at him since he was complaining that the food was getting too cold after he complained it was too hot. I tapped my nails on the table, but he didn't like that. I kept singing to myself, but he said I had a horrible voice. I even had a piece of paper and pencil to write with since I was bored, but he said he didn't like the sound of pencil on paper, the scribbling sound. It was too much to bear.16
I ate the rest of my soup, slurping. He glared at me and said, "That's so ennuyeux, so annoying."17
"Block it out," I said calmly, deliberately slurping my soup.18
"And what if I don't, idiote?" His voice went a little louder. "Stupid woman?"19
"Then, that's your problem for not blocking it out." I kept slurping my soup.20
He got up, making the silverware clank, and grabbed my wrist, throwing the soup from my hand. "Listen, Adelie wants me to get along with you, but I won't because I want to tuer, kill, you!"21
"Kill me?" I tried to pull my wrist from his grasp, but he was too strong. I was starting to get afraid.22
He groaned and threw me at the wall. I screamed as I hit the wall, feeling some cuts and bruises on my back. He threw himself at me, leaping from the table, which broke. I stared at him, then moved quickly out the way. I took a glance at his eyes; they were turning white. 23
The living room was the closest. I ran to it while Collin followed me, now in rage. I could tell he wasn't running after me. He was running after my blood.24
"Can we talk about this?" I yelled, but he growled and leaped at me, pulling me down on the floor hard. I groaned, pain shooting up in me.25
"Emily, just s'asseoir, okay?" he said lowly, lowering his mouth to my neck. Then, I heard a crash....26

OMG YOU LIED TO ME!!!!
