She lay there, in her bedroom. Wide awake, and in the dark. Staring at the ceiling. 1
Feeling beside her, in hopes she will feel the one she loved beside her, just one last time. Thinking of all their times spent together, she sits up. Throws on her housecoat, and walks out of the bedroom. 2
Walking up the Attic stares, she stops to a noise, and listens. Hoping it will be her love, standing beside her, arms wide open waiting for her to fall in them...Again. Turning around, continuing to walk. She stops Abruptly at the window atop the stair case, she sits, and stares. 3
While she sits up in her Attic, gazing out the window at the cold winters night. 4
She stops, she thinks. Turning around she stares at that beautiful white gown, that started her a new life. 5
While she admires that long, ice white gown she wore, on that day on August first. 6
She starts to wonder why he had to leave so soon. Why he had to let her go so fast. 7
Knowing he never wanted to leave her in the first place, she stares into the mirror that she once stood in front of, trying on this beautiful gown. Practising her "I do's" and practising her statement of how she loves him so. Not once stopping to think, what caused his fast leaf of absence? What made him think that it was his time to leave her? Not leaving where she sat on the cold wooden Attic floor, she sit there. Peacefully, staring at that gown that she thought would bring her happy memories forever. 8
If only she knew why he left her so fast. If only he knew how she felt about his absence. Wishing she could be with him one more time, just so she can have the honours of telling him, just how much she loved him. Just how much she cared for him. If only she had that chance, if only he were still with her. If only he still cared. 9
Holding up that dress, picking it up so gracefully, and heading down the stairs. Just thinking of how much she enjoyed her time in this dress. Picturing all the people smiling at her beauty. Smiling, because she was happy for once in her life. 10
Walking into her blackened bedroom, turning the lights to a dim. She stands in front of her mirror, lays the dress down carefully on her bed. She begins to get undressed. Carefully slipping her nightgown off, she slides her silk smooth body into the gown that changed her life. 11
Zipping the back up, and sliding on the veil. She stands there, gazing into the mirror. Seeing her past come to life once more. Staring at the love of her life. When nothing.... 12
Nothing but a tear escapes her beautiful soft blue eyes. Feeling it fall down her cheek, staring at the mirror in a trance, ignoring all sound, around here. Staring, as that tear turns black from the make up she wear under her eyes. Wondering-once again- why he had to leave her so soon. Why he had to go away and never come back. 13
Where did she go wrong? Why can't she do anything to bring him back. She pulls out a diary, she takes out the pen-with her name engraved in Cursive on the side- he gave her on their 1 year Anniversary, she begins to write. Still crying, letting her tears fall to the paper. 14
Dearest Diary~ 15
Where did I go wrong? Why is he not here, beside me. Why did he have to leave our little girl, why did he have to leave everyone he meant so much to. Why did he have to leave...me? I wish I could bring him back. But I've tried so hard, I wish I could just be in his arms one more time. I wish I could be with him again. 16
Love Always~ 17
X. 18
Never to leave her name in the Diary, in case it is to be found. She slips it back into her Droor, and locks it up. Parting her bedroom quietly, she walks into her daughters room, where she lay peacefully. And sound asleep. Until she awakens~ 19
~Why is mommy crying? What did I do wrong? Why is mommy wearing that gown, is she sleepwalking? Dreaming? Having a nightmare? Mommy what's wrong? Mommy tell me! Please. 20
As she tells her little girl not to worry and quietly rubs her forehead while she falls back to sleep. She stands up, and walks quietly out the door, and down the stairs. Staring... 21
Staring at the pictures of her and the one who meant so much, she feels more tears slide silently down her soft, pale skin. 22
Feeling the Emptiness that's left, she walks outside, into the cold. And Stares out into the night sky. 23
Closing her eyes, and laying on the couch that sits on her front porch, she lay there...Silently, ignoring everything and everyone who walks past her in mid morning... Asleep until morning rise. 24
Waking up in the morning, to find her little girl at her feet, staring fixedly at her dearest mother. Questioning her on why she had been crying and why she was outside, in the cold without a blanket. While her mother lay there, answering the questions she was being asked. She sees someone coming up her path to the steps to her front Porch. Only, this isn't someone visible. He's wearing a trench coat, and he's completely covered, unable to see an inch of his face, she pulls her daughter closer to her, and holds her tight telling her not to say a word. Sitting up straight, she stares at the stranger in the dark clothes. 25
Asking who he is, she stares at him. Telling her to close her eyes, for he will not harm or the little one. Her and her daughter close their eyes and hold tight. As he slowly UnMasks-masks himself. And tells them both to look up. 26
Slowly, the little girl opens her eyes and screams... 27
~DADDY!~ she yelled, as she jumps up and hugs him. Asking him where he's been. While her mother... Sit there, staring at his every move, just staring at him. Unable to say a word. A smile on her face, a tear sliding down her cheek. 28
Asking why he was gone so long, listening to his story.~ 29
I left to see if our love was true, I left to see if I still loved you. I wanted to see if the theory was right... At first, I thought we were wrong together, for I did not return for so long. I know you had beliefs that I had left you forever, and I wish I didn't do what I did, but I had to see if it was true. 30
The little girl, just stands there...Standing, staring between the both of them. Tears streaming down her face as well, she's questioned on her silence, and tears.~ 31
~Why did you leave without saying goodbye? I missed you, you don't even know. I thought you left us for good. Mommy was up crying last night, Mommy was this why you were crying? Were you crying for the same reason I am? 32
Staring, still unable to move, she looks down at her wedding gown, as she sees the smallest hand reach out to her.Mommy, stand up.As she stands up, she sees his arms reach out, as he moves towards her and flings them around her, hugging her, never wanting to let go of his dear wife. 33
She stands there...Staring at her husband, tears still pouring down her face, she opens her mouth in attempts to speak. 34
...I Love you...35
Author notes
I don't know too much about how this one came to be... I started to write it, and as soon as I wrote it... I fell inlove with the theme of it... I wanted it to end in tragedy, with her committing suicide... But I had to have it end happy... It gave it a good twist... enjoy!

wipes her eyes Being in love as I am now, this was the perfect thing to read to give me a good startle considering I've not seen my own loved one for four weeks yesterday. This is an awesome piece that I love dearly! As I read it I honestly recall sitting there... 'Oh my god, she might commit suicide, she would weep for her husband leaving her and their daughter and then commit suicide and leave her daughter with no one?!' I was near freaking out pretty bad here.
