Saphire saw 3 girls and Brad walk up to them, the girls were the Desimary triplets, Destinee, Desiree, and Demetria. They had black hair, but after meeting Odd, they dyed their hair blonde and magenta. Creepy right? They also finsished each other's sentences. "We didn't see you at the ball, Saphire." started Destinee, the oldest. "Guess a maid's job-" Desiree, the middle child, started to say. "Never done!" Demetria, the youngest, finished. They laughed evily. "Well, it's too bad you won't be able to practice, if you're going to Sissi's birthday party. Guess a cheerleader's job is also never done." Saphire said, mocking their evil laugh. They were about to say something back at her, when they noticed Odd. 10

"Hi, Odd!" they said at once. "Hi." Odd replied polietly. "I was expecting to see you at the ball, Saphire." Brad said. Saphire ignored him and continued talking to the triplets, "Didn't your hair used to be black?" "We dyed it!" said Demetria. "It looks sooooooooooo cute!" added Desiree. "Yellow and purple are such cute colors." finished Destinee. While the girls were talking to Odd, Saphire got up and rolled away on her skateboard, to get away from Brad. But, he still followed her, before she could get any further, Brad grabbed her arm and said, "Listen Saphire, I know how I used to ignore you before, but I really like you and want to go out with you." "You should be with your girlfriend, not talking with me." Saphire said, getting on her skateboard.14

She tried to leave again, but Brad pulled her arm back and pulled her close. "You mean ex-girlfriend. Besides, no one is ever gonna ask out a tomboy like you, so you might as well go out with me." continued Brad. Saphire turned her head around to where Odd was, so he wouldn't see her crying, but Odd did. She turned around to face Brad and pulled her arm away. "I hate you!" she cried, rolling into the forest. "Oh well, I tried." Brad said, before he left smirking. Back at Odd, the triplets were still rambling on and on about cheerleading practice. Odd wanted to talk to Saphire, so he thought of a plan to get out of their clutches.18

"Uh, girls I gotta go take a shower." he said. "Bye, Odd!" they said. Before he left, he winked because he knew what would happen. "He winked at me!" cried Desiree. "You? He gave it to me!" shouted Destinee. "No, me!" shouted Demetria. They immediately started fighting. 22

Anyway, In the forest, Saphire was crying with her face hidden in her hands. So, she didn't Odd come sit near her or put a hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw Odd, he asked, "Are you ok?" Saphire didn't reply, so Odd continued, "I heard what Brad said." "Well, it's true what he said, no one would like a tomboy, like me." Saphire said. "You're not a tomboy." Odd said. "Yes, I am!" she cried, crying harder. Odd wiped away her tears and Saphire looked at him, their eyes locked like on the day, they first met. They were interrupted when Saphire's phone rang. "Hello." replied Saphire. "Saphire, where are you?" asked Yumi. "Where I always go when I need to be alone." said Saphire. "Why?" asked Yumi, worry in her voice. "I needed to be alone." Saphire replied. "Well, when you're finished with your Romeo, come to my room, 'kay?" Yumi replied. "'Kay." Saphire said, before hanging up.26

She wondered if Odd heard what Yumi said, she realized her hand was touching Odd's and quickly pulled it away. "Uh, I got to go." she said. "Bye. And don't cry anymore, you don't look good." Odd told her. Saphire smiled at him and left. After Saphire left, Odd smiled at himself.   30
