I once woke up after a tiring night
My head feels dizzy, my face so tight
A day ahead of me
Waiting impatiently1
I took a bath, changed into my clothes
And did my best from hurting my toes.
I went to school, walked into our room
All the while thinking if I’m immediately doomed.2
A Herculean task was ahead of me;
They were the problems I face endlessly.
Piece of cake? I think not.
It is, as they say, X marks the spot.3
Each day, I look for a blessing in disguise
Everyday as I stare up at the skies
Because I have this chip on my shoulder for so long
But, like I’ve always predicted, I was very wrong.4
By adding fuel to the fire,
I made matters worse
Haste makes waste
And I’ve lost my head5
It takes two to tango,
And it happens to me everyday
Need a method of madness?
Grab the phone and I’ll be there.6
Rome wasn’t built in just a single day
And I rather not go and hit the hay.
This crazy mumbo jumbo keeps pulling me back
This hocus pocus refraining me from turning back.7
Curiosity killed the cat, and I rather not do such
I cried over spilt milk and let It all sunk
My heart bursting with all emotions
My mind exploding, all in portions.8
I thought back the reason why I’m like this
The girl I was, I really miss.
But then the answer came into my head;
I woke up at the wrong side of the bed.
My head feels dizzy, my face so tight
A day ahead of me

Author notes
Did this for English class in sixth grade. Our teacher asked us to make a poem using idiomatic expressions, and I guess I kind got overboard and... well
. Thought I'd share this piece with everyone else and have a good laugh for abusing the expressions.

6th grade? Pretty good! I liked it. The ending really satisfied me, because it seemed to make everything tie together. I like your choice of words; my favorite line has got to be, "Each day, I look for a blessing in disguise."
