Chapter Two12
I had already caught my first bus, so I was now in town. I’d never been in town this early before; it’s all quiet and empty. Then a sudden thought entered my mind. I was in town. Every time I’m in town, I have to go to my favourite store, so I let my feet quickly take me there as I didn’t want to miss the bus.34
I arrived at the beautiful, purple painted shop with black Brush Script MT font reading ‘Loli-Sho’ complimented by: white lace painted as a border, a bow in the top left corner and over the word ‘Sho’ was a Lolita styled top hat.56
I burst in to find a tall thin woman with piercing’s and tattoos on her body staring at me with a confused expression on her face. Why was she starring at me? I could burst into a shop wearing a school uniform which was enough proof I should be in school if I wanted to.78
I was darting around the store to see if there were any new items in, when I suddenly gasped from a pain that ran all the way through my body as if someone had just beaten the crap out of me. My breathing became heavy.910
What was that? It killed all over. Was that shock or something? I couldn’t explain what had happened, but I chose to ignore it as I had found a new cute bow with pink and purple splashed over a black ribbon, which I just had to buy, so I picked it up and ran to the counter.1112
I handed it to the lady behind the till and she exclaimed, “That’s two pounds, please.” Her voice was soft and relaxing but I didn’t recognise her, so she must have been new. I gently placed a five-pound note in her hand, which she held out towards me. She then handed me my change and put my pretty new bow into a small brown paper bag.1314
As I grabbed the handle of the door to leave, I turned and asked, “What’s the time?” After looking down at her watch, she replied “ Ten thirty-five.” My Eyes widened in horror. "Shit!" With in a blink of an eye I was no longer in ‘Loli-Sho’; I was at the end of the street, but still half a mile away! I was hoping that the bus had not left yet.1516
Thoughts of exams, friends and my new acessorie had suddenly disapeared and only be replace with one thought. 'Your always late to school, your so hopeless, you can never do anything right you stupid-' i winced at the idea of finishing that memory. It bought pain and fear back into my mind. "Ohh.Emm.Gee. Lauren stop letting your mind wonder you have a bus to be catching" i shouted, not really caring that people were now staring. 1718
But When I got to the bus stop, to my surprise it was still sitting there, waiting. I dragged my exhausted body closer and closer to it. Its doors were about to shut so I jumped on. That of course caused the bus to shake and created one very annoyed driver. I managed to spit out the words “Child ticket, one . . . please” before dropping the money into the coin machine.1920
After I used my last bit of energy to take out my mobile phone, I took the first seat available. I glanced down at the blue light my phone was emitting and I was suddenly in disbelief. It was only Ten thirty-six. Half a mile. . . in One minute? I decided to ignore it, thinking that my phone time must be different to then skinny ladies.21
Some thing strange had drifted up into my nose causing me to enquire, “Do you smell that?” to the scrawny man next to me. “Its sweet but very sickening” I added. But the man stared at me like I should’ve been put into a mental hospital many years ago. I decided to smile to see if that would give me an answer but instead he started to shake, and then he shook his and turned his body and head to face the window. What did I do now?22
