Poem - Human Nature

I lie, to preserve perceptions.
Deceive, to adhere to society.
Lead on, to remind one of ability,
and flirt, to retain confidence.1

You suggest falsities,
In hope of admiration.
Boldly lust, for what you know
you cannot obtain.2

You cry to a God,
whom I acknowledge is not listening,
for blessings of idolization.3

I whisper to the forgotten,
whom I know you’ll never accept,
for lessons of enlightenment. 4

We’ll dance this evolution,
for fear of unvarnished truth.

Hmm.. Something I am proud of.

    Good one

You could tinker with some of the lines, I. E.
    "You idolize a god,
Whom I acknoledge may not listen,
    Cry for blessings not there..."

Whatever, jsut thinking out loud here.

    Great possibilities here.

Had a certain Gothic splendour. Short, but it had a self righteous power, and I enjoyed the read.

"Gothic splendour".. hmm, you know, normally I wouldn't really like that, but I think it actually works with this one.. 'self righteous power' however, is more of the mind-set I did have going into this piece..

      Thanks for the comment.
