A misfortunate event

   Long ago, Halloween was the only time of the year when magic could be used freely. Magic was a very powerful thing, it could be used for good or evil. No one never knew where magic was formed from, or whether or not it would disappear from the world someday. In those days, magic was used for many helpful reasons, but mainly it was used for battle. Back then, weapons like Spears, bows, axes, hammers, wands, staffs, and swords were used for the sidelines.2

   The creatures that lived among the humans peacefully were creatures that are known today to only be fantasies. Elves were the main creatures that lived with humans more easily than any other creature. Others, such as Werewolves, Vampires, Mages, Warlocks, and Witches, also were peaceful living around humans as well, not as much though. Unfortunately, there were also creatures that existed that only lived to seek out the destruction of humans and the ones who helped protect them to live. Trolls, Torans, Demons, Demorians, and rogued creatures lived among them.4

   Each kingdom of creatures had their own rulers as well. The humans had a young prince who was 18 years old and was ready to be married. His name was Arkanok, he was couragous, adventurous, intelligent, wise, and very skillful with a sword. He was very special as a human as well, because he was able to use magic out of the few of humans that could. It was a very rare gift for a human to have the ability to use magic, most couldn't control it. They ended up destroying theirselves if they couldn't handle the magic's strength.6

The main ruler of the creatures who lived among the humans was the Elves leader, an elf princess who had an appearance of young girl, but she had more age than what that would ever become closer to. Her name was Katrina, she was very beautiful, graceful, kind, caring, and very exotic. She loved to wander around hers and the humans lands by herself, but it was too dangerous to roam alone. She would later on get caught for leaving her castle and have some of her most observing Elven warriors keep eye on her. She too was at the age of her arriving moment of being proposed to as well.8

   The main ruler over those who despised the humans and those who protected them was a Demorian, whose name was Darcarius. He was a creature who was very powerful with magic and who obtained to forms. He was part human, as well as he was part demon. His magic was very dangerous, knowing that it was dark. He was a creature who has lived upon the Earth for many of centuries, along with the rest of his family, who was sealed away in powerful crystals.10

   The morning of Halloween, Katrina awoke very early and dressed herself in a ragged dress she had kept over her years of time. She also wore a hood with a long flowing white cape to cover her face from the ones who lived outside of her castle. There was a huge war that was going on between good and evil, therefore, she could not reveal herself to the outside world under no circumstances. She slipped on her laced shoes that she wore around her polished room and walked over to a small cabinet. She opened the cabinet and pulled out a long rope with multitudes tide to it all together. 12

   On the end of the rope was a hook, that end stuck in the room on the window that she climbed out of. She attached the hook quickly and carefully followed down the rope. She landed on the ground and silently transported the rope back into her room and neatly into her cabinet with the use of her light magic."At last! After days of sitting in that old castle, I finally get to see my kingdom and Arkanok's as well again!" She said as she ran as fast as she could. Elves had stronger abilities than what humans could do, so Katrina's speed was VERY fast.14

   When she reached the border of her kingdom, she looked back towards her castle. "I'll be fine, at least for a few hours." She said to herself thinking about if the guards had noticed her dissapearance yet.She placed the hood over her long, silky-like, white hair and walked off among the humans. When she entered among the town, she seemed to have blended in just fine. "Yes! Its working, just like last times! Now, to find Arkanok....." She thought as she wandered through the towns in search for his castle.16

   Arkanok was sitting among his window sill as he looked upon the sights of his kingdom. His eyes navigated through the different sizes and shapes of people, until he came upon someone wearing a white hooded cape, covering their face. "Its her!" He said aloud as he rushed down stairs and ran through the large doors at the entrance of the castle. Katrina was getting closer to Arkanok, so he ran after her and led her away to a small hill that was a several distance seperated among the town. Placed in the center of the hill was a large willow tree that seemed like an enchanted place when the wind blew its stringe of vines and leaves.18

They climbed onto the largest branch and cuddled up to each other. Arkanoc removed the hood away from Katrina's face and kissed her upon the lips. "I missed you, what has kept you away from me for so long?" Asked Arkanoc as he stroked through her hair. She layed her head upon his chest and closed her eyes, "I am sorry, but the guards are trying so hard to keep me from leaving the castle.". Arkanoc raised her head up and stared into her carmel colored eyes, "They're right you know, this war is too dangerous for a princess to be wandering about in.".20

   Then all of a sudden the sky became darker, and strands of fire began to float around the tree. Then a large black figure appeared within the flames wearing black armor and yellow glowing eyes. "Thisssss war endsss now!" Hissed the figure as the flames got closer to the tree. Arkanoc held on tightly to Katrina and pointed his hand outward shouting out "Water Shield!". A huge bubble engulfed the two as the flames devoured the rest of the tree.22

   "No!!!!!!" Cried out Katrina, "Sacred Hill! Its destroyed!!!!". Arkanoc's eyes grew angry and he stared at the dark figure, "Darcarius, I will kill you once and for all!" he screamed as jagged rocks began to grow out from beneath Darcarius's feet. Darcarius jumped up and drew out his sword, "Thisss is sss the final finish for you both!!!!!" he hissed in the air. He quickly landed back down, due to the force of gravity, and completely slaughtered the couple. He landed on the granded with a booming THUD and watched the bodies fall, heavily bleeding, out of the tree.24

   Darcarius walked over to thetwo bodies and grinned a wide, wicked grin as he watched the heads of the two rulers tumble down hill. Arkanoc's head continuosly rolled down a cliff, while Katrina's head drowned while bubbling into a lake filled with Werewolf venom. Darcarius began to laugh a loud laugh as he sheathed his sword on his side, then it grew into a maniac's laugh. "Finally! It issss finished!" He yelled out as dark clouds formed above the two kingdoms, while lightning and thunder expanded through the distance. An army of evil and dark creatures appeared behind him as the had their weapons prepared and wildly slewed the kingdoms that represented the only good on Earth.26

    Very good. Magic is one of my favorite subjects. I would hate to think it only happened one time a year.

    I really like the idea of the "beginning" of magic. Everything has to come from somewhere and I think this begining to your story set a tone for the rest that worked well in context. I am looking forward to future writes

    Hello White Werewolf, welcome to StoryWrite and thanks for sharing this Science Fiction/ Fantasy with us. This is an unusual Halloween tale with a very unexpected ending .

    You have apparently set up a situation that leaves the world devoid of Human and Elfin life forms—hope this wasn’t our world . We mean we shouldn't be around to enjoy your talented work . You have a good plot, and some colorful characters.

    You will have to do some serious editing. There are words used that change the meaning I believe you are trying to get across. You have a told a fine tale, the time you put into corrections will be worth the effort. Read each line out loud and the problems should become clear.
