Awful Date

Thought I'd share with you a blind date I went on - the worst I've ever had.  John and I have seen each other at the office for a few weeks.  A friend of mine set us up. Friday night we went to the movies - saw Wedding Crashers - I was not impressed with the swear words and the funeral crashing scene.1

We then stayed for the second show at the same theatre - a real thriller, believe you me. Watched Red Eye.  John grabbed on to my arm really tight, I think he was scared a bit.  Still have marks there today. Watching two movies in one night like that is one experience I won't forget for a long time, although I'd sure like to.2

Afterwards we went for spaghetti on a bun - still have the stains on my jacket to prove it. It's at the dry cleaners now.3

He sent daisies to the office, and signed them love, John.  I really don't think he knows me well enough to say he loves me after just one date.4

I wrote John a letter to tell him I was leaving town for a while.  I've disconnected the phone, and don't know when I'll be back.5

Author notes

This is made up, but can imagine it happening.  A terrible blind date.

If your characters worked in the same office wouldn't he know that she didn't leave town? Other than watching 2 movies you don't really say why the date sucked all that much.
It could use with more details
    good start though

Hehehe, sounded weird enough to be taken from reality! Enjoyed the fanciful flight of what may have been, but I suspect many of your readers will conjure up MEMORIES that they just as soon forget. Well done.

Lol.... yep, I sure can imagine this happening... you've written a very amusing and believable tale here, grannyeri. I felt a little sad for poor John, looks like he put his all into this..even though his all wasn't much. And I sure can relate to how the heroine feels through all this. when I was a teenager I allowed my best friend to convince me to go on a blind date with her and her boyfriend....never again... this guy was 17, I was 16, but he had false teeth and he kissed me (at my friends urging.. she knew he had false teeth and thought it was funny when he MOVED them as he kissed me...eeeewwww!!)

You're kinda lucky, though.... he didn't even send me daisys afterwards. Fortunatly he was a visitor in town so I didn't have to worry about him contacting me again.

    Great story !!

How funny, Dear John, hate double features and spaghetti sandwhich creatures, lol... Why is it the ones you dislike the most always fall for you?

    Cute story.

Oh my, you must have broken that dear boy's heart! I can't believe it. Oh well, a bad blind date is still a bummer. Good
    job. Shancy.

Well it sounds as if you really didnt like him i mean it could have been worse he could have turned out to be a serial killer or something, maybe he was just nervous about the date and wasnt sure what you would have liked to have done and you could have said something, maybe it was just a lack of communication.

Yea it sure does sound like a terrible blind date....two movies in one night?I don't know for the others but that is just too much for me.
And I really hate guys who would grab their dates' arms during a scary movie....it's so...girly???

Nice write for a blind date....blind dates can be terrible and some times ...horrible.

Anyway,I liked reading this and I have to say you've got flair with words.
    Have fun,
    nellymichelle.

sounds like a dear John letter to me, dear John I have left town and had my phone disconnected and that woman in the office who looks like me is just a temporary stand in until I get back. Now then you saw two feature films on the same night in the same movie theatre so you must have spent at least 4 hours there, not a lot of talking though, then went for spaghetti in a bun, maybe another hour and a half, so in between movies and eating you probably chatted for an hour, and then he sent daisies instead of roses, hard to figure out why the dear john lpetter isn't it. A very funny date Gran I have taken notes of what not to do.

Yeah, that would be annoying if it happened. Good thing it didin't, or you would have red marks on your arm. This was goofy, I think, good work. There really are nutty people out there like that though, so keep your guard up.
