Talk about me
I'll talk about you
I'll mix the two
And play with you
Because every day
You play with me
And I'll attempt
To play with you1
You seem to care
About what I wear
About what I eat
About what I drink
Maybe simply
I should slink
Away from here
And go somewhere there
But I have no money
I have no fame
I don't even have
Any shame
'Cause all the pain
Of life's to blame
But then again
I'm not insane2
I won't cut your throat
Or steal your oats
Or pretend to bend
The paper ends
I won't steal cash
I will not flash
My potential wears
On streetside corners
So wear your money
I'll wear my shame
While I attempt
To find my fame
Because sometimes
I feel ashamed
For being me
Trying
To be free.3

Wow, such emotion poured into a short poem. The dependence is very apparent as is the upset of having to tolerate it. I hope the person in the poem finds their own way and am so happy to see that they have support during a dark time in life no matter how upset it makes the person. I'm sure the giver gets through giving though, being a giver myself.
It's fascinating.

I understand what message you are trying to send out. It's one notmany seem to understand in this day and age. Thank you for throwing it out there and then even featuring it.
Besides the message, I loved the rhymes!

This is a great poem because I really appreciate poems that rhyme! I had to write a rhyming poem once for school and ... I'd like to not think about it
Really, great job!

Well that was very addictive. I just wanted to read it again. It reminded me a little of a DR SUES [SP?] book. One that rhymes and seems a little silly, but has an underlying message. I loved the last part of it, summing up the freedom of experssion and personal freedom.
Loved it personaly.
