Emo Academy 3- Chapter Two

When I reached my room, there was a girl standing next to my door. She had light chestnut skin with silky black hair. She had a very slender build, with sparkling brown eyes. She turned. When she saw me, she flashed me a smile, showing off her completely white teeth. ‘Don’t tell me she’s like Garnet…’ I thought, groaning silently.1

“Hello there,” she had a British accent seeping through her words. It was pretty soothing, I had to admit, “I’m Nadya Punjab. I’m just going to assume that you’ve been here before, so could you show me where my room is?”2

“Sure,” I mumbled, “I could if I knew what number it was.”3

“So sorry!” Nadya apologized, “It’s room six hundred and thirty-eight.”4

“Well, I’m pretty sure you past it already, since you’re in the six hundred and sixties.”5

“Yeah, probably,” she laughed.6

“I’ll show you it after I put my stuff away in my room, alright?” I confirmed it for her, and went towards my room. As I opened it she frowned.7

“You have that room? Six hundred sixty-six?”8

“Yup. They probably set it up,” ‘They meaning Ms. Pierce,’ I thought.9

“Good luck. That’s probably the worst room you could get.”10

‘Thanks for the encouragement,’ I scowled without her seeing. I entered the room and set my bags and violin(that more gently than anything) on my bed. When I came out, she was standing there, smiling.11

“Alright then,” Nadya said brightly, “Let’s go!”12

Twenty-eight rooms later, we were standing before room six hundred thirty-eight. She grinned at me.13

“Thanks a lot,” she sincerely said.14

“No problem.”15

“I hope I can see you more often, Torren,” she closed the door behind her and I was alone again.16

‘Wait a second,’ I thought, slowly realizing something, “I didn’t even tell her my name! How did she know?’ I stood still for a moment, then kicked the air.17

“Damn,” I grumbled, “She has to have something to do with Nemis, doesn’t she?” I ran my fingers through my orange hair, “Does she want revenge for something too?!”18

“On the contrary,” a familiar voice chimed from behind me. ‘As if things couldn’t get worse…’ I thought, and turned. Smiling Ms. Pierce and petrified Servus were standing next to each other, “It’s been a while, Torren.”19

“Not long enough,” I mumbled.20

“I missed you too!”21

“Alright, down to business. Who is she?” I asked, scowling.22

“Didn’t she tell you already? She’s Nadya Punj—“23

“That’s not what I meant!” I growled. I looked to Servus, “Maybe YOU can come up with something good?”24

“She’s a…mage,” he answered simply, “Someone who… practices magic.” 25

“I knew that,” I said quietly, “But what’s her relation with me?”26

“She also knows about Nemis,” Ms. Pierce explained, “And always disliked him, to put it nicely. And so she’s here to help you out.”27

“Then why didn’t she just tell me so?”28

“Because she… wanted to make sure… you fit the description… Tanya gave her,” Servus said.29

“And what would that be?” I arched an eyebrow.30

“Orange-haired, 5”6”, scary green eyed, sharp-tongued, stubborn, uncaring, sarcastic, rude, unsocial, short tempered, “ Ms. Pierce giggled, “The list goes on and on.”31

“Gee, thanks. Aren’t counselors supposed to make people feel better about themselves?”32

“You’re special. Anyway, you should be heading to class right about now. You too, Servus,” Right as she said that, the bell pierced my ears. Servus and I both ran down the hall, trying to make it on time for our classes; his orchestra, and mine art. ‘Sucks to be the Electus Unus,’ I thought, ‘It really sucks.’33
