Should It Matter? Gay Marriage!

Let's start off with a what if scenario. So here's the what if...What if the president and Congress wanted to turned everyone into Buddhists or Hindus? Would there be a fuss then?1

Why of course! We are people! People who have their own beliefs in different things. So when it comes to gay marriage it's a touchy subject for some people. Gay marriage is a subject that is going to continue being fought over and over no matter what. It shouldn't be based on what other people think but what the gay community wants.2

Let's look at our heterosexual counter parts who only get their marriage and how many divorces? We are coming into different times in which everyone needs to take a step into a circle and reunite with each other. Love, marriage, religion, and color nothing like that should matter.3

In other words what I am saying it shouldn't matter what the government wants or those homophobes want, it should be up to the gay community. If we continue to ban gay marriage then what is going to be banned next?4

Marriage is love. Love is love no matter who it's between.

The last part here I wrote way before this contest though I think that it does suit it too and it's my rant:

Why can't gay people marry? I just don't see what the big deal is. Yes there are some places that allow gay marriage but shuldn't all. I would not want to travel to a different place just to marry the woman that I love. If the world can allow abortion then why not gay marriage? If two people love then who are we to stop that love by not allowing them to marry? I just hope that by the time I want to marry my girlfriend of four years that I can in the state that I live in. I just don't see why we have to be so segregated when it comes to marriage. We are all humans the only difference is we love differently. I just wish people can see that being gay is not a big deal. I don't run away from straight people so, why should they run away from me? I am very opinionated when it comes to this topic. I know I can't change people's minds but I wish that they could just read and at least get some idea. This is a topic our society needs to embrace as a whole.I just hope that someday it can happen.8

Love is love. I completely agree with u 100%. America is supposed to be “land of the free”, yet I can't marry the girl I love. I'm going to continue fighting for the right to marry my gf.

so true this whole thing is, i really believe you are right and that it is retarded that people just cant except some one for who they are instead they try and change them int ot something that they arent, you are so right!

I totally agreee with every single word that you said! I am a lesbian as well and I think it's insane that they allow homophobes to decide our future. The church says gay marriage is a sin, but what about divorce? That's a sin too, and TONS of "so-called" religious people divorce every single day. Yet churches I guess think that is okay. Good luck in the contest, I hope you win!

  • Huzzah! I completely agree!

Honestly, I have conversations like this all the time with my mom, she's not for gay mariage, and I am. xD

    Why does it even matter?
Shouldn't we try to spread love in such a hate driven society?

    Great job. :]
    Good luck in the contest.

I completely agree with you. I am not gay, but i am friends with people who are. I also don't understand why gays aren't allowed to marry. I apologize to you on behalf of the straight community. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to marry the person you love, just because they are the same gender. Congratulations for you and your girlfriend, i am glad you found the one you love.

Both your top argument and rant are well thought out. It's also nice to get the opinion of someone the issues affects most. Thank you very much for entering.
