The Blooded Knife-chapter 7

She had barely gone a mile when she came to the source of the scent. 1

A man was lying in the clearing, surrounded by his own blood. He was still breathing. 2

An animal lust took her over. /Kill him/ her instincts were saying as her mind and conscience screamed no. She lunged at the dying man but was jerked back by a rough hand. "What are you doing!?" Brian's voice demanded. She did not reply, instead she struggled to get out of his grasp and finish off the dying man but Brian held on tight. She started to drool as the blood continued to flow out of the poor man's body. 3

"Let me go!" She snarled and she did not recognize the sound of her own voice.4

Brian dragged her away from the man. She resisted but Brian was stronger. He glanced at her. he knew how it was to lose control, and the guilt afterwards. Luckily, she hadn't actually drank the guys blood. He'd been able to stop her, and by  stopping her he had saved her from countless guilt trips in the future. 5

Sunny's eyes were still blazing and had a redish tinge to them. He could clearly see the hatred she felt for  him at the moment. Brian walked them back in to their prison, the cave and sat Sunny down.6

"It's a good thing you don't know how to change yet." He remarked. She turned her red eyes to him. 7

"Change?" She rasped. "What is a change?"8

"To turn into a black shadow that can float. It's a good thing you don't know how to do that yet, or not even I could have held you from that man."9

"Why did you hold me back?" She hissed vehemently at him.10

Brian sat down too. "I've killed a man before, I drank all his blood. This was a few days after I'd turned into a vampire and trust me, you don't want to live with that guilt."11

The red had faded from Emily's eyes.12
