To Me In 10 Years

Dear me in ten years.1

Do you even remember writing this letter? Do you still love writing stories? I hope so. I hope that you have already published several books under the pen name Evna Westchester. Remember when Emma told you (me? us?) that your middle name and the street you live on are what make up a pen name. 2

Do you still talk to Emma? And all your old school friends. Or did you forget them, finding new ones in a vain attempt to replace the old ones. I hope not, the old ones are the best! 3

What did you go to college for? I still haven't decided what I want to be, but I hope to god that you have. I hope you chose a good career. Something interesting and ever-changing. Nothing boring like sitting behind an office desk, typing mindlessly hour-after-hour. I doubt it. I don't think you would be that dull.4

Do you ever miss your teen years? Have you ever wished you could relive them, have you ever thought you could make them better? Have you ever sifted through the hundreds of pictures, remembering all your old friends and all the great things we did? The road trip to Cali, good old fluffy, the best van ever! Going to the Olympics, meeting Anne Marie? Do you remember visiting the Atlanta School, and all the awesome people you met. Do you remember the sleep-overs, all the deepest, darkest secrets told. Or has all that faded to a mere forgotten memory, washed away by time. 5

Are you married, or dating? Is he sweet, and everything that you could want in a guy? Did you have the three kids that you wanted, naming them with my favorite names. Or have you changed that as well? 6

    Awesome, I bet this letter will bring back a lot of memories for your future self. A little side note. I like your way of coming up with pen names. I am curious if maybe this letter was intended for yourself even a little older. The main reason I ask is the wondering of three kids that is a lot of kids to have at 23 just curious. A fine letter all the way around
