synopsis for short story class

It’s the first night in her new house, and Susan can feel her eyes growing heavy. She decides to call it a night but the phone ring. It’s her childhood friend Miranda, she asked how thing are going with her new house. She also lets her that Daren Seamus has been released from prison the day before. Susan tells Miranda that she is confident she is safe, and says goodbye. When she hang up the phone she feels a breeze, notices that a window is open. She quickly heads for the window and closes it. She proceeds to turn off the lights wearily. 1

She then goes to the bathroom, and changes her cloths. Slipping into bed, she grabs her book and places it in front of her face. After a couple of minutes she notices that she left the bathroom light on, so she decides to turn it off. Sticking her head into the room she hears a small panting for a short moment then it stopped. Thinking that she was just hearing thing, Susan closes the door and hops back in bed. The thought of reading anymore made he even more tired than she already was so she decides to turn the light off and go to sleep.2

Susan begins to dream of her past incidents with Daren Seamus. She starts to sweat and wakes up. She goes to the kitchen and gets a drink. When she finishes her drink she hears the grinding metal of the shower curtain opening. Thinking her mind is playing tricks on her again she goes back to her bedroom. Before she reaches her bed she notices that the bathroom door is open. She now becomes nervous and heads for the phone in the kitchen. When she gets to the counter Daren Seamus becomes visible from the doorway of her bedroom. Susan starts to sprint for the phone but Daren garbs her by ankle and she falls to the floor. Daren is also pulled to the floor, and Susan kicks his hand free from her ankle. She stands up and again begins to run for the phone, Daren struggles on the floor, but quickly gets up and heads for Susan. Susan picks up the phone and dials 911, and hangs it up. She searches the counter for a weapon, and only finds a dirty fork that she used for dinner earlier that day. With the fork in her hand she stumbles back into her bedroom with Daren right behind her. She trips and falls to the floor, and Daren quickly pulls out a knife and stabs her once in the leg, but Susan shoves the fork into his stomach. Blood spills onto the floor in buckets, and Daren quickly becomes distraught, and falls to the floor. The sound of a car pulling into the driveway could be heard. Susan checks his pulse and gets nothing.      3
