Emotions

                                                   Emotions1

Today we are going to be observing a little girl's emotions. They are perfect subjects since they can fly from one emotion to another in the simplest of situations. They know how to get what they want and they never get punished. Even to this day, we know not all the mechanics of a young girl's mind. So observe, and learn lots. This, is a little girl happy: 2

Emmie skipped into the library, humming to herself. Swinging the hem of her purple satin dress as she skipped, Emmie headed over to a boy who was sitting on a windowseat, reading from a large book. "Mr.Lucas! Look at what I found for you," she said happily.3

Lucas looked up very reluctantly from his book, dreading what Emmie had to show him this time. Sighing, he grabbed the brown flowers out of her hand. "Flowers. Dead... ones. Um, thank you... Emmie," he said, with a hint of disgust in his voice.4

"Do you like them?" Emmie leaned forward, smiling eagerly.5

Lines creased his forehead as he asked,"do I... have to?" 6

This is a little girl sad: 7

Tears began to form in Emmie's eyes and she sniffled a bit when she said," you don't like them?"8

"Oh god. Please, don't cry Emmie. I'm so sick of-" 9

"WAAAAAHHHHH!! Mr. Lucas doesn't like my flowers!!" Emmie fell to her knees, crying into her hands. 10

"No no! C'mon kid. Big girls don't cry," Lucas threw the flowers over his shoulder before he awkwardly patted Emmie's shoulder; his failed attempt at comfort. "Emmie, of course I love these flowers. Let's go put them in some water, okay?" Lucas stood up and motioned for her to follow him.11

This is a little girl angry: 12

Emmie stopped crying suddenly and decided to hit Lucas. She punched the back of his leg and screamed," you're lying! You hate them! I hate you Mr. Lucas!"13

Lucas held the spot where she had punched him and cursed. "Damnit, that hurt Emmie! Why can't you act like a normal child?!"14

"Hey, what's going on in here? I heard someone scream," Aaron, Lucas' older brother, asked as he wandered into the library. He looked down on the scene with a huge grin. "Arguing again?"15

This is a little girl frightened: 16

Emmie quickly got up and hid behind Lucas, going deadly silent.17

"She... She punched me. It hurt," Lucas whimpered. Emmie peered around Lucas, then quickly ducked back.18

"Emmie, why don't you come out and tell Uncle Aaron why you would hit Lucas?" Aaron walked over to Lucas and knelt down, waiting for her to answer. "Emmie? ...All right." He sighed,"you never want to talk to me so I'll leave you two be then." 19

"No! What if she does something else to me?" Lucas nearly yelled, panic in his eyes. "She drives me insane but I can't do anything! Help me Aaron! Please!" 20

"Oh, you'll be fine Luc," Aaron said before closing the library door behind him.21

Lucas hung his head in defeat and ignored Emmie's tugging of his pant leg.
"Mr. Lucas? Is the evil man gone? Mr. Lucas?" Emmie tugged violently, too afraid to look around his leg to see for herself.22

  "Yes Emmie! Jeez..."23

This is a little girl in love: 24

"I love you, Mr. Lucas," Emmie said, hugging Lucas tightly.25

"Great. You give me dead flowers, you punch me in the back of the leg, you treat my brother as though he were a demon and now you're hugging me. Are you going to skin me alive and wear my skin as a coat next? Huh twerp?"26

This is a little girl confused: 27

"What does... " twerp " mean Mr. Lucas?"28

"It means 'an annoying little runt who won't leave Mr. Lucas alone for one single minute, even when he's sleeping'!"29

"What does that mean Mr. Lucas?"30

Lucas' right eye began to twitch violently. Grabbing the flowers from the floor he threw them at her. "Oh my god Emmie! Go away before my hands find your tiny, little throat and I squeeze all the annoying life out of you!!"
This is a little girl- 31

"All right! Who is that?! Who keeps announcing everything? This is NOT a documentary! It's really, really, starting to get on my nerves!! First Emmie, now some disembodied voice. I've had enough!" Lucas began to frantically search the library, looking under a desk, behind a curtain, and under a chair.
This is a boy feeling triumphant: 32

"Aha! There you are!" Lucas cried out, lifting a cushion up from the couch. "I'll teach you to sneak into someone's library and announce everyone's emotions!"33

"Who's that Mr. Lucas? She looks funny. And how did she get under there?" Emmie whispered, peering around his legs. 34

"Emmie, back up. We don't know how dangerous this... thing is. Okay, come here you, I'm going to teach you a lesson. You messed with the wrong person on the wrong day."35

"Uh-oh..." muttered the girl hiding under the cushion. "Time to bolt!" She jumped up and dodged Lucas' fists, running straight for the door. 36

This is the announcer running away. Until next time. 37

Author notes

I wrote this for a contest about Emotions (duh), quite a while back, and it won me first place. =D I like this entry because of its randomosity and because I got to use my friend's character, Emmie, and my favourite, Lucas. Emmie was actually a bit tricky to write about, considering how she has so many aspects, but in the end it worked out.

Also, I clearly can't seem to be able to Bold certain parts. :/

Oh my god that was hilarious! I loved it! And it's totally true. Most of the time. I loved the end. I didn't think there was an announcer but it worked out great and Emmie was adorable and crazy and had alternate personality disorder. You did an awesome job at this, and once again you have a great sense of humor.
