Fight against Death Chapter Two

I awoke to the sound of my engine powering down. I yawned and turned the external lights on to see where I was. I searched around to find a planet or a ship. With no results, I turned off the auto pilot and started to pilot the ship. It just hit me where I was. I pulled up the star map and studied it. The map flashed ‘current location is unknown. Please return back to the closest known solar system.’ I knew I was where I needed to be. I powered up the EMP and targeted what looked like a simple piece of metal a voice came over the radio. “Power down the EMP. It took us 3 months to get the cloaking device working after the last time you shot it.” I smiled and fired it anyway. The EMP hit the metal. The piece of metal shimmers, and then it exposed a huge machine. As the cloaking device powering down, it starts to expose a planet. “Damn it Black Rose. This is coming out of your pay.” I admit that my low pay is my fault, but the first time I shot them with my EMP was because they refused to lower the cloaking device so I could land.
“How much this time?” I asked.
“Easily another year of docking your pay. By the way, we have new supplies for you. You need to come here, before you land on the planet.” He sounded mad. I just ruined 3 months of work with one shot. I took off towards the now exposed space station that was hiding behind the cloaking device. I got my ship set up to dock. I wound up in bay 843-B. I swear that they do that to me for a reason. After the bay doors shut, and the room flooded with air I got out of the Deadman and removed the EMP and put it in the cargo bay,
“Excuse me sir. Would you like me to start the repairs?” said a robot. I nod. Prolong periods of hyperspace jumping always was murder on my 8-core. As I reached the elevator, I take one look back at the Deadman and watched as ten more bots come rushing up and worked on the Deadman. Oh how I hated the elevator, it had no floor, it was just a simple tube that you ride in until you got to where you wanted. I took it up to the ship store. I get out of the tube and looked around.
“Welcome to Walk-mart. We currently have sales on 10-core engines.” Said the man behind the counter. I walk up to him and flashed my ID.
“Screw the 10-core engines. I need a second gun.” I snapped.
“Still have the EMP cannon?”
“Ya, I sold my magma cannon to get here.”
“How much did you get?”
“8 CPCs and 3500.”
“Damn man. You should have called me, I would have given you 22,500 for it.”
“Too bad, last time I sold something to you, I wind having it fired on me 3 years later.” He pressed a button under the counter, and the store layout changed. He jumped over the counter and we walked to the new exposed area.
“I am not at fault. I sell it without asking questions, you know this is an Admin store. So yell at them not me.” I stopped in front of a class C, two-barrel machine gun. And picked it up and studied it. “You have a sharp eye, I got that 3 days ago from Týr police. It fires 400 rounds per second. I set it back down and walked down the isle a bit more and stopped in front of a magma cannon. “I wouldn’t waste my Credits on that if I were you, no one can seem to get it to fire. I got it yesterday from Lofn police. It may not work, and the former owner did not have the requirements for it. I’ll let you have for 2,000 Credits.”
“I’ll give you 1,500 for It.” I answered back.
“Deal, I don’t know why you want a gun that doesn’t work, but it’s your Credits, not mine.” I followed him up to the counter and paid for it.
“I can tell you that it does work.”
“No one has been able to figure out why it won’t charge, I was planning on opening it today and check it out.” I reached into my pocket and pulled out a bolt. I put it into a small hole at the bottom,
“That’s why it won’t work.” I smiled and started to charge it up.
“How the hell do you know that?”
“This is my magma gun I sold to James.”
“You little military brat,” he was pissed. “I just sold a 30,000 gun for 1,500. I will never sell you another gun as long as I work here.” I started to leave and look back.
“That is the 285th time you said that, yet here I am walking out of your store with a gun again.” With that I stepped into the elevator to the supply floor.
“ADMIN ON DECK!” shouted a Second Lieutenant. I looked at her. She stepped back and salutes. “Sir permission to speak freely Sir!”
“Granted” I replied back. The military space station is a giant headache, I hated the regulations that they have.
“Sir, why do you always glare at me every time I do my job, you always glare at me. Why is that sir?”
“You need to relax some, I am not like the other Admins, and I don’t abuse my title.” I shifted the magma gun on my shoulder. “I don’t like being announced on every floor.” I started to walk towards the counter when someone grabbed my shoulder. I grabbed my knife and spun around.
“Relax you military brat. We are both here for the same reason. I just want to inform you that it’s nice to see you again,” said a fellow Admin.
“Get out of my way, before I shoot you.” I snapped back.
“What the hell is your problem?” I dropped the gun and grab his arm and forced him onto the ground.
“Where the hell were you in the battle over Avalon? You said you would be there. Yet no message, no excuses, you were a no show. Because of you, we lost the planet.”
“Like I could make a difference there. We both know that as soon as the bomb is launched, the only way to stop it is by destroying your ship. And I sure as hell am not going to do that to save a damn planet.” I stepped on his neck.
“Now you listen to me you spineless coward. You passed the first ATC. Unlike the Admins that turned against the elders would never come close to us. We swore to give up our lives if needed to.” I growled. I applied more pressure, and watched his face change colors as the fear overcomes him. “If I ever hear that you hid like a coward. I will hunt you down, and make you beg for death.” I stepped off of him, picked up my gun and headed for the counter.
“You are no Admin, you are only here because of your daddy. You are not a true Admin, and you never will be.. So just go home and cry to your daddy.” He yelled. “You will not survive much longer. We all know that. The day that the Angel of Death comes for you, we will step back and watch.” I enter my ID number at the keypad and the dock floor I was on.
“The supplies will be delivered in 2 hours. Feel free to go where ever you want on the station,” said the man behind the counter. He was white as a ghost and didn’t make eye contact with me. He was scared to death because of what just happened. I turned around and headed for the elevator.
“You hear me, the Angel of Death is coming, and not even you can hide for them.” He was shaking in fear. The thought of the Angel of Death coming sends shivers up almost everyone’s spine.
“I welcome the Angel of Death. He and I are long overdue for a meeting.” With that I stepped in the elevator and took it down.
---
I get back to my ship and attached the two guns. I checked out the supplies that I had.

After that, it just had a signature. I put everything in the cargo bay. I climbed into the Deadman and powered up. The bots changed the pressure in the docking bay and open the doors. I take off and headed for the planet. 3 hours later I finally landed and got out. The planet of the elders was a beautiful planet. Untainted by human greed, as I walked down the platform to the elder’s room I noticed movement. I stop and looked at the strange creature. It was a simple little kitten. It was soaking wet and afraid. I go over and pick it up. “Hello, my wet friend, what brings you this high up?” I asked it.
“Meow” was its reply. I take a look and found out that it was a boy. I took off my shirt and wrap him up. He was shivering. I carried him in side with me. Inside was all white, no chairs, only a door at the very end. I walked towards the door and see that it was opened already. I walked in. and there are the other six Admins. There was a river of lava flowing through the room, separating the seven seats on one side, and 13 seats on the other side. I rush over and sit down.
“Why are you always late?” asked an Admin. I held up the cat.
“Blame him, he was on the landing platform, soaking wet.” I replied.
“Awe he is so cute.” Said a female Admin. “What are you going to name him?”
“Do you really think the cold and heartless Admin wants a cat?” said a third Admin. “He is going to eat the cat.” Before anyone can say anything, the main lights went out. The only light source is now the river of lava. The soft red glow didn’t light the room very well. The 13 elders come walking out into the main room.
“We are glad to see all of you.” Said the first elder.
“Black Rose, you really need to stop draining the cloaking device.” Said a second admin.
“We have called you here for we have disturbing news.” Said the third, activating a recording device. A voice started to speck.
---
Long before the Elders were created. There were only seven Admins that ran the universe. They controlled it by using the Seven Admin Cheats. The Admin Cheats are seven guns, when fired together; they could destroy a solar system. At that point in time, there were only 13 solar systems that we could travel to. Each solar system sent their wisest man to a hidden planet, where they could talk and plan without having to worry about being killed. The 13 men came up with an idea. The idea was to take the Admins out one at a time. The plan went off without any problems except one. The Seven Admin Cheats. They were too dangerous to leave in the hands of the human race. The first idea was to destroy them, but the Seven Admin Cheats could not be destroyed, so they voted to hide them.
The Great Admin War started because some of the Admins wanted the cheats. When the elders refused, the Admins raged war trying to find them, and destroyed the planets that it wasn’t on. The elders had to stop them at any costs; no one should ever have the power. The war lasted for over 20 years. Many people lost their lives.
The ICC went into hiding after the leader was killed. There are only 2 Admins alive in the ICC, and they still are searching for the Seven Admin Cheats. You have been requested to find the cheats before the ICC does.
The Angel of Death made the Seven Admin Cheats. He made them to protect the universe. The Admins abused the power. To find the Seven Admin Cheats, you need to find the Angel of Death. He disappeared about 100 years ago. He is the only one that knows where they are hidden. I wish you the best of luck. The lives of innocents rest in your hands.
---
The voice stopped, and the lights returned to the room. The elders get up and leave without a word. We waited 13 minutes before getting up and going our separate ways. The rule was no one spoke after the elders leave. We already knew what was going to happen. Each one of us had the same idea. Find out who the Angel of Death is. I get back to the Deadman, still holding the cat. I set him down and put my shirt back on. I started to walk again. I started to feel claws sinking into my skin; I look at the back of my leg and see that the cat was climbing up it. I pick him up and looked at him. “You might be more problems then it worth.” He yawns and looks at me. “Alright, you win, I’ll take you with.”
