Vanity

I'll be your friend. Look at you, fat. I wonder why you never notice. Don't you stop eating? Don't you look in the mirror and see something disgusting?1

And you. With the mirror. So worried of what they'll think of you, but nothing's gonna change the size of your nose. Or your chubby cheeks.2

What's that, grade E? Studying all the time doesn't make you more intelligent. You just try so hard, but you're not kidding anyone.3

Ha ha. I wonder what it's like to be that short. Wearing red or green again? You look like an elf. Can you reach the soda on that shelf? 4

So mean. Never a kind word for anybody. Aren't you like me? Putting these people down. Does it make you feel better? Do you still cry yourself to sleep every night? Probably.5

Look at them. Flaws.6

Look how good they make me appear.7

You're fat, you make me thin.8

You're ugly, and suddenly I'm angelic.9

You're thick? How clever I seem.10

Your size compliments me, no longer am I 'the short one'.11

So mean. I'm so kind.12

It's like they say. Opposites attract?13

To make themselves look better. The existence of evil makes 'good' look so pure.14

I bet deep down it's writhing in filth. Sin.15

So I'll have you all with me. But really, I'm the one with the mirror. The mean one. The short one. 16

Who has to know?

Hmmmm.... this has a very poetic quality. It is short, so therefore has less room for errors and I could not find any, even re-reading this a few times.

I must say, the first read-through was a little confusing to me, but I definitely see what you are going for here and I like the idea of the inner battle.

This line here - "The existence of evil makes 'good' look so pure." --I'm not sure how to feel about it actually, it's almost like you are suggesting there is no such thing as good, with the way you have it in quotes. And, I like that theory.

This was interesting to me, it made me think and I admire that. Good job and good luck!
