“Uh…we were just…” I trailed off biting my lip trying to hide a smile.
“You were just…trying to sneak off,” Said Ms Kirwan looking at the both of us. I looked at Damon and I could tell he was trying not to laugh.
“Pretty much,” I shrugged.
“You do realise Miss Olivia, you could have just asked to go out tonight. I would have considered it,” Ms Kirwan said shaking her head. “Come back around the front and you can go.” I grinned and Damon and I turned around and left.1
“Close one,” I laughed as we walked out the school gates. The easy way.
“Totally, I was surprised when she let us go,” Damon said shrugging.
“I know. She’s turned so…weird, I don’t even know, or care, why she would let us go. But who cares,” I shrugged. “At least we got out.” Damon nodded and we walked hand-in-hand to the movie theatre. It was a short walk because the theatre is only 5 minutes away from the school. Major bonus. 2
After the movie we went out for dinner at some fancy restaurant. I hate it when Damon spoils me like this. He said it was for my birthday. Which is tomorrow. Ugh, I hate birthdays.
“Bella, it’s your birthday tomorrow, just let me do something special for you,” Damon said pulling me towards the restaurant.
“I’m only turning 17,” I complained. “Besides, I bet you won’t let me do anything for your birthday.”
“Exactly, that’s why I’m doing this for you,” gosh he’s annoying…oh well then. 3
After dinner Damon took me to the park. By now it was around 9pm. Damon kept smiling to himself so I knew that something was going on.
“What is it Damon?” I asked curiously. “What are you doing…?”
“Nothing, I just have a little surprise for you, that’s all. Come on,” he led me over to an open grassy field with just a blanket set out on the ground. We sat down together and stared at the sky in silence.
“Bella,” I looked at him. “Look up.” I looked above my head just in time to see fireworks flare up into the sky like colourful bombs exploding. My eyes shone brightly as I smiled widely and stared at the fireworks: Red, green, pink, blue, purple, gold and silver, lighting up the black night sky. But the main thing that caught my eye was the next load of fireworks. “I love you Trix” was blown up into the sky. I laughed amazed and rested my head on Damon’s shoulder.
“I love you too,” I whispered. For the rest of the night we laid down in silence. 4
I woke up to the sound of birds singing. Well crap, we must’ve fallen asleep. I checked the clock on my phone. 7 Am. Well that’s alright. It’s the weekend anyway.
“Damon,” I whispered. “Damon, wake up.” His eyes opened sleepily.
“Did I fall asleep?” I laughed and nodded.
“Thank you for last night. It was amazing. How did you do it?” I asked smiling. He smiled back.
“I know people,” he grinned. He helped me up; we just left the blanket there. 5
When we got back to school and said goodbye I ran to my dorm; well tried to.
“Bellatrix! What do you think you’re doing?” Katrina said from behind me. Ugh!
“Oh gee Cat, I really don’t know,” I said turning around to face her. She smirked.
“Yes, well don’t run. And also, never call me Cat. Got it?” She said storming off. I shrugged and continued on to the dorm.
“Luna! Rose! Serena! Oh my god! You’ll never guess what happened last night,” I said excitedly closing the door behind me. I launched into the whole story about last nights event.6
I even added the recent Katrina encounter. Their eyes were wide through the whole thing.
“Oh my god, that is so sweet!” Serena exclaimed.
“So sweet!” Luna added.
“Totally!” Rose chimed. I smiled at them all.
“But,” I started. “The Cat thing before downed the mood-age,” I rolled my eyes.
“Gosh, forget about her. Probably just moody because she never gets anything special,” Rose said. We talked for a while longer then we decided to go out into the library and go on the computers.7
“Ugh, remind me to get my own laptop the next time we go shopping,” Luna said. “These computers are so old and slow!”
“Tell me about it,” we said in unison. We do that a lot. Hmm, weird. The boys flooded in; someone must’ve hinted where we were. AKA Serena.
“Sup girly’s,” Dimitri said, he’s always talking like a gangster. It’s cute though.
“Yeah, how are the ladies?” Alec asked winking at Luna. She blushed.
“We’re just spankin’ aren’t we,” I said laughing.
“What’ve you guys been up to?” Serena asked.
“Just chillin’, the usual. Nothing else to do around this joint that people call school,” Xavier said sitting on the computer desk next to Serena. 8
Everyone eventually drifted off slowly. Except for me. Well I thought it was just me. Mark, one of the preps walked over to me. We don’t exactly hate each other. But Katrina doesn’t know that.
“Hey,” I said nodding.
“How’s it going?” Mark asked sitting beside me.
“Mmm, so so. How about you?”
“Same same,” he said. I won’t be able to stay for long, don’t want the gang to find me talking to a snooty prep…
“So…” I trailed off. It’s hard to talk when there’s nothing to talk about. Before I knew it Mark’s lips were on mine. What the hell?! I didn’t push away though. After about 30 seconds I pulled away.
“Wait! What the hell?!” I asked madly.
“I-I’m sorry,” he said looking down. “I shouldn’t have done that…” I looked around to make sure no one saw us.
“Do not tell anyone about this,” I whispered harshly and walked off. Oh my god, what did I just do! There is no way I am telling anybody about this. 9
“What have we here?” I spun around and who did I see? Grace. Ah crap!
“You have Bellatrix, disappointed?” I said with major attitude.
“Very. Especially after what I just saw,” Grace said narrowing her eyes at me.
“Oh really, did you finally look in a mirror?” I am just too awesome at comebacks.
“No, but really, it’s not me who was disappointed. It should be you. I just saw Luna and Damon together.”
“Uh wow, they’re friends. I wonder why they were together,” I said sarcastically.
“Oh really? So friends are meant to kiss their friends boyfriends? Wow, you Emo’s are a strange lot,” WHAT?!
“I don’t believe you, you’re a lying cow so that doesn’t affect me,” I said more annoyed than anything. But I am slightly curious…
“Fine, don’t believe me then,” she said walking off. 10
“Luna!” I called walking into our dorm.
“Yeah~”
“Is it true?” I cut her off.
“What? I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said standing up. Rose came out of the bathroom.
“I heard that you were kissing Damon,” I said madly. Rose’s jaw dropped open.
“What?! Luna is that true?” Rose said staring at Luna coldly.
“No! Well yes, but I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to really! Xavier was there and he put a blindfold on me. He said we were gonna play a “game.” He put one on Damon too; we didn’t even know it was us. He thought it was you and I thought it was Alec. I swear!” She said almost in tears.
“That is the worst excuse I have ever heard!” I yelled. Then Damon walked in and saw Luna and me.
“What’s going on…” he started and then realised.
“Trix, it was an accident! I swear, it was Xavier! He tricked me. Us. I would never do this to you, you know that. After last night you think I would do something like this?” He said with a faint look of hurt on his face. I just turned and walked out. 11
I really shouldn’t do this after what I did. At least Grace didn’t really see what happened. I should go back to them, but before I had the chance, Damon was already there pulling me into his arms.12
