Entering and Exiting Life at High Speeds 101

Some things catch you off guard. Then when they hit you, it's like nothing will ever be the same again, and often, things really aren't the same again. When I met my best friend Joei, I knew my life was forever different. Not that I'm blaming him for any of this, but he plays a major role in the following story. 1

God, I swear I can feel the icicles forming in my hair. It's so cold in here that I swear I can actually see my breath. So much for central heat. That's what I get for moving back home. Then again, I didn't have much of a choice, did I? I'm getting ahead of myself. 2

Joei and I live in a world that would kill most people pretty fast. Let's just say that our lives are a bit--complicated. See, we broke in to the 'underworld' at a fairly young age. Him, before me, but at the same time. He was just younger. I was about 13, and he was about 11. We went through hell and back...but again I'm running laps around myself. 3

God, I'm absolutely freezing. I might have to kill my mother. Actually, it wouldn't do any good. She isn't a human being, she doesn't have feelings, or a heart. She just stays alive to piss me off. Although, it's like sometimes I can almost see her smiling at me, but it disappears just as fast.4

Me and Joei decided one day that we were going to be important, and we were. Are. It doesn't matter either way anymore, I guess. This is the truth behind the most notorious people ever to live in Evansville. No bullshit, no rumors, just truth. My truth. Some people say that my life goes so fast that they can't keep up. It does. I live my life in the fast lane, and in this lane, if you even think about slowing down, you're dead. 5

Be prepared, because this isn't a story with a happy ending, and it isn't a happy story. If you really want to know I'll tell you, but it might kill you to learn my secrets. They can be pretty dangerous. Just ask my friends, there aren't many of them left anymore, but the few that are left will tell you that this story will be graphic. Extreme. Intense. Real. Read on if you want to know what really happens when I stopped believing. When I stopped hoping. 6

This is what happens when you lose your innocence. Everything that follows is true. It is much to extreme for some people to understand, or to even grasp. I'm sure everyone will think I'm lying, but I'm not. I wish I was, because then everything would be different now.7
