"What do you do
to play," she asked.
Without hesitation
Just lickity split
My fingers traveled
The keys real quick.
Weather just right
I fly a kite
Or I might
Travel toward heaven
On the seat of a swing
And sing
Whilst aloft
in the key off,
Ride a bike,
Backward walk,
Puddle jump,
Listen to little boy chatter
The subjects of great matter,
Decepticons and Autobots.
Build citites of Lego
Upon a table,
Cuddle and read
Dr. Seuss,
Track a gerbil gone lose.
With Skype
The Net, Webkinz and Wii
Never far away we be
From playful opportunity.
We is me and
My small-fry buddy
My heart's delight
My gift,
The son of my son
My grandson.

Delightful
Playful, and such a happy ending. That child will certainly enjoy the child his grandma is. I have a story/poems Dan Man Walking and In The Matter of Meeting Miss Kate, perhaps you can share them with himself, the new prince.

Thank You
This was a spot of fun all wrapped up with how I feel about the "new prince." I am trying to get access to Dan Man Walking but All Poetry is telling me I'm not old enough -- LOL. Clearly I have to spend some time and figure out how the All Poetry site works.

Beautifull written, grandkids can be a real delight and can make you feel like a kid again...they wonder and question and it's so sweet.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem.

Marta-First Mate Thank You
Glad you enjoyed it. It was one of those times when the feelings get in front of the words.

I think it's wonderful to be a kid again and look at the world through different eyes. Magical to share the innocense with the innocent.
