Who is my Savior? Chapter 1-Childhood nightmares

"Kathleen, I don't care about what your God has to say!" Michael Aras pased back and forth. "Michael I've been so miserable these past year and God has brought me happiness!" Micheal slammed his fist on the table. "All the miserable years with me?" 1

Eight year old Joy sat in the corner crying, her hands white squeezing the hem of her dress. "Micheal if you would just listen to me!" 2

"i'm tired of listening!" Micheal hit her one hard time across the face. "I listend to my father half my life about some God of his! There was no happiness in it!" 3

"I don't know what your father told you but please listen to what I am telling you now!"4

"I know it's not this God that has changed you. I know you're having an affair!" Micheal grabbed her and through her against the wall.5

Joy let out a small scream. Micheal turned and spotted her hiding in the corner of the den. "What're you doing?"6

"Joy sweetheart go to bed" Kathleen tryed to leave Joy out of it. But Micheal grabbed Joy by the arm.7

"Micheal Don't hurt her!" Kathleen rushed to free her daughter.8

Joy kicked and squirmed. "Dad please stop!" 9

"Micheal she has nothing to do with anything!" Micheal hit Kathleen and dragged Joy down the hall. Kathleen lay lying on the floor knocked out. 10

"Dad Please you're hurting me!"11

"Shut up!" Micheal opened the door to Joy's room and through her in. Joy fell off balance and hit her head on the bed post.12

Joy awoke sweat all over her face. Her breathing was heavy and her heart moved as fast as a frightend horse. She looked around her room. Nothing. Why did the past have to haunt her dreams? Why wouldn't they go away? Joy hugged herself and let out a shakie sigh. The cool of the near by window sent shivers down her spine. She made her way to the window and just stared. Freedom. Just out the window. When was Timothy going to finally tire of her? She wouldn't be in the situation if it wasn't for Micheal Aras. How she hated him. He sold her and got not even enough for three rounds of beer. 13

Joy shut the window and got beneath her bed spread. WHen was her savior going to set her free?14

Author notes

In the 1600's a girl soled into slavery of a man. She wants freedom from him and the life she has but when a man finally helps her out of it, she has to find the real savior. The only one who can set you free.

    Hey.

    Firstly thank you for entering.

    I can completely understand being haunted by the past, your mind plays tricks on you; it seems so realistic and is just as traumatising as when it really happened. You captured that completely, making it seem like it was real then having her waking up in a cold sweat was completely realistic.

    The language and flow of that writing was amazing, it brought through the emotion perfectly. I really can't fault this piece, it's truly amazing.
