Goodbye Almost Lover [May be a repost]

Goodbye almost lover,1

I know our time was short, you're off at sea. I knew you couldn't stay forever, but I hoped... hoping is for the mindless. You taught me that. I wanted you to stay forever, but, I suppose, its a pirates life for you. And maybe... just maybe when you return it can be a pirates life for me too. Ha there I go... hoping again. Well, have fun on your voyage. I won't remember to forget you.2

Love Forever, 3

Your dearest Dalilah4

I tucked the letter intohis coat pocket before I handed it off to him. Then he boarded his ship, and I knew in my heart that one day I would see him somewhere again. I didn't think that somewhere would be heaven. I got the news two months later. I saw the ship return from my window and I sprinted to the port. I ignored the odd looks of the towns people as I, the governor's daughter, sprinted down the street, without being completley done up and letting my hair fly free. When I arrived the first person I saw was his firstmate Timothy. His regularly happy face bore a grim expression. As I looked it appeared all of the men had out-of-place frowns plastered to their faces. That when I realized that the boat had emptied out and you were no where. I began to shake and I dropped to my knees sobbing. My father rushed to my side and carried me home. The next day Timothy came by to drop off a letter. 5

My Dearest Dalilah,6

I do wish I could've brought you with me, but the life of a sea captain is much to dangerous, especially for a young woman of your stature, when I return I'll be sure to fill you in on all my exciting details. 7

Love until the end,8

Gregory9

And that was it. The last promise Gregory made to me, the last promise Gregory made to me would be left unfinished. Just as my tale now shall be left... unfinished10
