“Hi,” I said, smiling at Devin as I walked up to him. He smiled back at me, and gave me a hug, squeezing me tightly.5

“So what are you doing after school?” I shrugged, seeing as I had no plans since Tristan and I were ‘on a break’.6

“You wanna hang out? We could take a walk or something,” Devin said hopefully, “or we could go to the park. Or go to the movies.”7

“Yea,” I said, smiling as genuinely as I could. I miss Tristan so much.8

“Well I’ll see you after…oh great. Here he comes,” Devin said, rolling his eyes. I felt my heart beat speed up, and I turned and saw Tristan walking towards us.9

“Hi Jasmine,” Tristan said, before turning and looking at Devin angrily, “ could you excuse us please Devin?”10

“Sure…yea,” Devin said, smiling at me and walking away. 11

“Is this break over yet?” I was really hopeful, I just wanted to be with him again, and pretend this separation never happened.12

“Yea,” he said, pausing as he looked me over sadly, “and so are we.”13

“N…no,” I whispered, unable to speak loudly, “don’t…Tristan…I need you. Please don’t go. I love you more than I can explain, and more than you’ll ever understand. Don’t…don’t leave me.”14
